The MC doesn't earn anything. The past lives just give him their skills and he's like "ow that hurts" for like 2 seconds before perfectly mastering it from that point out. When he's in danger, deux ex machina past lives just drop in and instantly solve the situation. I thought maybe it would change but it didn't. Every time, every case, if he is in danger, it is solved with a deus ex machina.

Not to mention another major issue: His past lives really aren't related to him. They don't look like him, they don't act like him, they don't have similar personalities to him, they don't have the same philosophy as him, etc. It results in them basically feeling unrelated to him in any way other than being deux-ex-machinas.

The art style is kinda bad. Main problem is that the girls all look like guys, I mean they have guy-face. It's a ridiculously cartoonish art style that really does not match the tone of the story at all. I mean, in serious life-or-death situations you have characters pulling weird cartoonish grins even though they're scared to death.

Only 5 chapters in and there is so much nonsense already. Example: the MC is somehow able to learn spearmanship by being stabbed many times. The MC is given a shield to defend himself from a spear. By being stabbed repeatedly, the MC is said to have learned how to use a spear, even though he never even held a spear. Sorry, there is a limit to which disbelief can be suspended. This is just too stupid.

But the bigger problem is the entire concept. It's just bad. There's no other way to describe it. Every time the MC faces a crisis, one of his past lives descends into his body and takes over and saves the day, with the MC having no memory of what just happened. This is some seriously unimpressive storytelling. It's hard to be invested in a story where every problem the MC faces will just be magically solved by a character randomly pulled out of a bucket of 990k characters that are essentially just gods sitting around waiting for the MC to encounter a problem so that they can just jump in and save the day. With this kind of setup, the MC is essentially in a position where he cannot fail and furthermore, all solutions are just going to be thought up by a committee of gods rather than by the MC, which completely removes his agency.

990k past lives? really? is this the author's definition of originality? for sometime I thought I was reading a Chinese novel but after a while I was sure it's a Korean one. It's mix between some novels or manhuas I read before with little originality (990k past lives, even this isn't original. I remember some MCs has such setting but with different number)
