Love the hidden identity aspect of hiding their class, but so far... The MC must be as dumb as bricks not to realize that they're not really C-class espers
I have a few "hm?" Moments with the MC, but nothing drop-worthy so I'll keep reading and see how things go. I thought he'd be tough and feisty, but he kinda gets walked over easily. Surprisingly different from what I thought. (Only on ch 18 so far)
A few more chapters in and it feels like the author really, REALLY wanted to write an omegaverse but settled with a guideverse. What do you mean they release smells when they're aroused? What do you mean they get cycles of getting horny and feverish and release the smells uncontrollably? That's just alphas and omegas in ruts and heat but with a guideverse spin 😂 or is this the origin of omegaverse, guideverse version?
Okay I finished it. So, I mainly look for action when it comes to guideverse, since dungeon raiding and the skills and battle can be very intriguing. But if you're looking for Solo Leveling the BL series, this is NOT it. There's very little action. You see the insides of maaaybe two dungeons at most and they barely ever expand on the characters' powers. It is literally a guideverse drama where the characters are forever wandering Misunderstanding Street and Assumption Avenue. If that's your thing, great! All the more power to you.
The top really is a bastard. He realizes his feelings way WAY too late and he never SAYS anything he's thinking. Which is why we get that little runaway arc everyone in the comments is talking about. I never read the novel, but with only experiencing the manhwa, I think the length of that arc is just right. It's not dragged out, and the top gets to experience THE REGRET which I'm pretty sure most of us held on for. Still, something felt like it was missing between this pair. Maybe it's because the manhwa is not as detailed as the novel or maybe because it ended prematurely, it felt a little disastisfying.
Now for the ending. It DOES feel a bit rushed. We get a resolution from the misunderstandings and then it rushes to an ending. I wish I could've seen more events or stories about them as a happy power couple, but the manhwa definitely doesn't explore that. Quite a shame since I was super hooked up until near the end of the run away arc.
I personally am the "I want a BL solo leveling" kind of person so the lack of action was disappointing. Despite that, the drama is pretty intriguing and the characters are fun (though almost no one but the two main characters get explored much). It's an okay guideverse, not my favorite but not my most disliked. Just left me wishing there was more.
