It's ironic how a normal depiction of daily Tokyo ended up fulfilling the manga's title and becoming a What-If Tokyo post-covid!
Asano's works (especially Oyasumi Punpun) have a way of striking a lonely chord with me that resonates so deeply it leaves me depressed. They are very good works but also so well portrayed and realistic that the sad parts become vividly sad in a way that affects you.
The monologue of the mangaka while she's walking through Shibuya to go to her work as a manga assistant is one such example that deeply resonated with me. It was like it was written about that lonely side of me and it sounded so sad but so true.
Nice one-shot overall. A nice story and deep peek into a mangaka's daily life in Tokyo and only within 30 pages. Well done Asano.
