Description

This manga is about a girl who debuted as a mangaka at the age of 13, but no longer has any work as a mangaka at the age of 19. She decides to once again be a mangaka after reading manga by someone named Sachi and since girls love and boys love is currently popular she decides to go out with a girl coworker named Morishita who is in love with her to gain experience for her manga. However, she finds out that Morishita is Sachi!

First of all, I had long given up on ever seeing this fully translated. So thank you to StatskyTL.

Upon re-reading this series I remembered how emotionally impactful and meaningful the first few chapters were. I also remembered how much I loved this couple when I first started reading it. Asuka is an unemployed bum who is dating a much younger girl, yet she still manages to be so likeable. Because she has hit a wall. Morishita who still has her spark seems so bright compared to Asuka, whose entire being seems faded. Her relationship with Morishita is like a thread to life.

It's funny though. By the end of volume two, she's writing manga again. Her relationship with Morishita is also as advanced as it ever gets in this manga. So what happens in the next six volumes? I just re-read this manga and I'm still struggling to remember. It's just a series of distractions to prolong the story. "Let's introduce an assistant who hates gays!" "Let's introduce a love rival!" "Let's have them do long distance!" Their relationship goes nowhere. Their careers go nowhere. Nothing else interesting happens either. It's a touching two-volume story buried under six volumes of pointless drivel.

The first two/three volumes were good, but the later volumes were utterly crap. The writing turns god awful, and their chemistry never grows to a satisfying amount. Waste of time.

Volume 8 Final?!

WHAT ?! THAT's it?! the Shoujo A extra story at the end sucked since it had a nonyuri relation but, really?! So is Hirao-sensei giving us a Manga no Tsukurikata 2 or is that it ?! I got this message with my volume 8 binder though (それにてお別れです) so I guess that 's it...?

I started reading Manga no Tsukirikata a couple of days now and i finished all that's translated in a evening. The characters and the art too it's pretty warm and cute, and the development of the characters it's so atipic.

I'm really liking this series. If you ask me, I'd say it's...warm XD but that's just cuz my vocabulary sucks right now. The characters come off as believable to me, and although the beginning is rather abrupt and at first I didn't quite know what was going on, everything levels out a little ways into it. Very much hope to see this continue ^_^

I won't be rating this one yet, but it's certainly different ( in a good way ). More realistic than most, too. The main heroine shouldn't have any unconscious feelings for Morishita from pretty much chapter 1, tho. Well, anyway, so far it's one of the better shoujo-ai / yuri mangas I've read.

Ok, I'll only add that even though the art could be better it's certainly some good manga. Considering that it seems to be someone's first "real" series it's really, really nice and worth reading. I'll be honest and give it an 8 for now.
