Huh. Yeah, this one was weird. It was pretty decent and heartwarming before it took a horrendous tonal shift. I guess there's an argument to be made about how it defines "cleanliness"? The archaic thought that women are dirtied after being defiled, so the author presents two girls who now have sexual experiences, and neither of them are depicted as "dirty" because their hearts are "clean"...

Okay let's be real, I don't think the author was going for that, but the parts all before the weird commando arc were pretty endearing. The rape was pretty gratuitous and lasted for far too long (you can just imply things, you don't have to show every action!) to justify any argument about women's purity with regard to sexual activity. I have no idea what Ramunemura was thinking.

The art's nice, though. Scanlations make it clear when this manga is going off the rails, so you can still read and enjoy a fluffy story about a messy girl and a boy with a weirdly encyclopedic knowledge of cleaning up until you quit. That's what I'm rating, not the... uh, the whole package. Chiri's adorable, I don't regret it if only for her.

This was fairly enjoyable and "wholesome" and then the author slapped in an out of place 180 degree tonal switch. That would have been bad enough as no-one enjoys a bait and switch, especially when there was absolutely no foreshadowing. But there were a number of things that made it worse. It was poorly written and drawn for titillation. Sexual violence very seldom adds anything to a story, even moreso when it comes to manga where it is very rare to see it handled well. It added nothing to the narrative and obviously detracted from it.

The defence of it in the comments is laughable, "Well there's worse out there" is an argument so stupid that to mention it is more of a response than it merits, similarly "Why is it so bad here?" is equally unworthy of an extended response. If you don't see why "surprise rape" is more out of place in a light hearted romantic comedy than other places then you really shouldnt be commenting on it.

This manga wasn’t really a “dumpster fire”. The scene in question is really out of place, but there are worst scenes in other manga (looking at you Dead tube).

Overall, the art was decent and the story was pretty dull and generic. And of course the story was axed and therefore lacking.

Well for me the story line my be dull but the art is good and i they give good cleaning tips ;D, also from all mangas i have read this one is really not bad, there are more bad ones out there ;D

A decent comedy manga, not really super funny, it did not make me laugh out loud, but it had some amusing moments.
From the comments about "dumpster fire" and the rest, I expected the ending to be extremely bad, but it was not. If that scene bothers you so much then you have not consumed much media; manga or otherwise. One low point for you personally should not invalidate the rest of the work, and why is this so much worse than all the manga that shows gruesome deaths or torture?
Short, but a pretty light and fun read.

I remembered this manga and then decided 2 check if it had more updates can't believe it went from delightful 2 trash in a flash.

I'm fine with sudden changes or plot twists but that was random plot twist+ new character+ sever ambiance change + short manga + no real conclusion= I'm left dumbfounded

Can't wait for the next one.

False. That is entirely speculation. There was nothing to suggest that the manga was being axed on the author's twitter before deletion, there was no announcement by the publishers, and since it's published in a web app there's no reason for the publisher to drop any manga unless it's for a drastic reason. It's not like they have to save space in a physical magazine. Even if it WAS about being axed, no publisher that demands a manga be canceled by a certain chapter or date would be dumb enough to think "oh, you're still on chapter 8.999? okay then keep going!" And if the rape arc was somehow undesirable to the publisher they would just prevent it from being put out.
But they didn't, because they don't care, because it's a web reader app and there's nothing for the author to even retaliate against in the first place.

If there is ANY clever scheme going on here, it might be that all publicity is good publicity, but it certainly isn't the fault of anybody but the author.
If there is more to that "long story short" that could tell us more, I'd love to know about it, but so far the only source anyone has for this being anything but a terrible manga is people sourcing reddit speculation.

Long story short, the publisher canceled the manga and he did this on the last couple chapters to get back at the publisher who was obligated to publish the final chapter before dropping him.
