This collection of stores is hard to understand. The author chose to tell some of the tales largely by drawings, with little writing to explain what's going on. However, much of the drawing was interesting. and in almost all the tales I could feel a mood of gentle melancholy.
Sometimes the tales became comprehensible to me, and in two of those cases they had tremendous impact on my feelings as I read them. I recommend you start with these, Marigold and Musical Bbbboooox.
This is a seinen manga, and a kind of avant garde one. I bet there are thousands more seinen stories of this sort languishing unscanlated. I wish we could get more such works.
This mangaka had a very distinct sensibility, and I would give a lot to read more of his works (He died in 1995, the writeup on him on this site says.)
