Fear for the future story

I'm unsure if I like it or not yet. Read almost 30 chapters and the excitement I had at the beginning has kinda fell flat.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Now I'm a Holmes Detective fan AND a "007" fan (I've watched a lot of the movies).... but the moment you put multiple famous characters into a story, you basically have a formula that you're expected to keep with those characters. As soon as they introduced a female Bond, not sure why but I didn't have a good feeling about where it was going to go. I'm not sure what to expect as the story continues.

I agree with Zurel in regards to the era; there are times where just atmosphere or details are just "not right".
Ultimately, I love the idea of the focus being more on the criminal psycology as a change from the focus solely on Holmes... but I'm on the fence on whether I should keep reading or not.

Not really for history lovers

It's clever for sure. If you're into anti-villain/anti-hero kind of character, who is a brilliant mastermind behind a criminal plan, you will not be disappointed. But if you are also a history buff, be prepared to either get annoyed or angry. It is obvious from the get go that, at least, the artist hadn't done enough research. The characters have the usual pugnacious anime hairstyle, even though men in Victorian Britain didn't wear their hair like that. But most manga/anime set in that time do the same, so I would consider it acceptable, if only the other details are correct. Yet the clothes are too modern, the weapons were not yet invented in that era, and even the architecture is wrong. It disrupts my enjoyment because I cannot make myself believe that this is Victorian Britain, because it doesn't look like it at all. Not to mention the in-your-face talk about nobility and class, which makes up for very awkward dialogues. But this was originally Japanese and if you factor in the translation screws-up, you will just have to accept that the characters are not going to speak like Dickensian characters. Enjoyable if you care only for clever plot and ploy, but a misery if you think getting the right atmosphere is also important.
