It is 1904, 37th year of the Meiji era. Shintaro Umakai, a former diplomat to Russia, has returned to Japan after the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese war. Heart-broken at leaving his beloved Sophia in Russia, Shintaro accepts a teaching position at a mysterious girls school. Only the girls school turns out to be a battleship and his pupils command strange and bizarre powers--powers that may win the war with Russia.
