how many times can a heroine trip, or have something almost fall on her, before it becomes cheesy? like bruh, how in the world did she survive without a ton of bruises before ML came into her life. he catches her like every other chapter lol

Ah what to say about Wendy. While I liked the manhwa overall, this could have been so much better! The story is obviously trimmed down from a more expansive source. While primarily a love story about a woman who learns to slowly open her heart and trust others, it has a strong political undercurrent but I don't think this was achieved quite the right way. This political background isn't developed enough, and after having 70 chapters of a pretty bland love story, all of a sudden serious issues about farmers and taxes are put front and center. Frankly it didn't mesh too well IMHO. The backstory about Wendy's powers was cute but not utilized at all. The bland love story was not a love at first sight, which I liked, but the problem lies in... The characters.

The character are the most obvious blah moment here. FL I actually liked, she had some surprisingly bitchy and sharp tongued moments that I enjoyed immensely.Also, she had some guts and was proactive when needed. But everybody else was just abysmal. The ML was boring as porrigde and there wasn't an outstanding supporting character at all, not even one. I couldn't even remember their names, let alone care about them. The main antagonist was okay, nothing exceptional but he had his good moments. Wendy's sister was badly underused, she could have been a good glimpse into obsessive character who know they are crazy but can't help themselves.

What I liked about the manhwa is the visuals. Don't get me wrong, I still think the artist is a mixed bag,and isn't good at drawing many things, like animals, action scenes, large groups of people and so on. But drawing flowers, interior design, lovely gowns and pretty hair, she's tops! Some panels are truly marvelous, and due to her unique style, the artist creates a lovely atmosphere that I find most manhwa lack.

Overall, this was an okay read, would rec it to people who want a historical romance with beautiful visuals and don't care that much about the story and the chars.

I liked reading this up until the last quarter when everything felt rushed and the art can't keep up with the action. Wendy was an interesting character and so was the drama. The art was pretty but some facial expressions are just bland.

It’s fun, but keep expectations low

Art = 6/10
It’s sometimes beautiful and sometimes unintentionally hilarious. I especially laughed at the “beautiful horse.” In no way is that beautiful. Looks like something a 4th grader will draw. I give it credit for being entertaining, but it’s also jarring how much it fluctuates.

Characters = 4/10
Only the male lead (ML), Rad, and female lead (FL), Wendy, have personalities, but it isn’t much. Everyone else serves as annoying plot devices to force the 2 closer. Whether you like their personalities is to your own taste. The ML is the typical overprotective type who is a strict task master for the knights under his leadership. The FL is pretty juvenile and clumsy; sometimes she can be snarky and sometimes she’s just all goody-goody.

Plot = 5/10
It’s very much the typical romance manhwa formula. Persecuted FL gets some sort of power boost (instead of regression, we have magic power in this one) that makes her OP (overpowered). She saves people, ML notices and hounds her. Her OPness saves the day as usual all the time. Most nothing about this story stands out besides being brainless and pretty juvenile. There is probably one scene where the FL is threatened, which is pretty ballsy by the author. Mostly it’s a fun, forgettable read. It doesn’t really resolve anything with the antagonists and you don’t get to see kids either. If you lower your standards and kinda skim it; it goes by fast.

the basic storyline is amazing, being able to create life from the tip of her fingertip, but the way its executed not so much. So many awkward scenes with expressionless faces from male characters. No explanation goes into the world she lives in or her family. Lacks various things really. Made it to ch 14, from reading the spanish translations at tmo, but dropped it.
