Heartwarming story about family

We love to see Yaichi's character progression~ Tagame-sensei is the one who made this so the art has the impression of his bara stuff, but this one is safe to show to children. In fact, it's interesting to see Yaichi's biological daughter, Kana, and how she reacts to meeting her uncle. I don't know how much the Japan has changed in regards to some of the discrimination that happens, but this manga does a neat job mixing in the good times with the harshness of reality. I definitely teared up a bit at the ending.

A rare find

I've been looking for manga that focuses on LGBT characters without being sappy or smutty yaoi. It's surprisingly hard to find! Otouto no Otto/My Brother's Husband is one of those rare gems. The characters and the situations they're put in are realistic. The protagonist Yaichi's examination of his own prejudices, and subsequent (real) acceptance of Mike and Ryoji's relationship, vibes very true to life.

I will admit I was a bit tentative about going into this manga because Tagame's stuff isn't usually my thing. But this is a really great slice-of-life manga about LGBT issues and how they're viewed/handled in Japan.

I don't know, but it's the first time I encountered a manga about this kind of setting. (Tell me if there's more)

When I first discovered this I thought it would be like Yotsubato so I immediately read it. Boy am I wrong. It's indeed drama. I love how little by little we see the father's different thoughts especially how he manage to accept his twin brother's choice of life. And also how the innocence of a child portrayed here.

I can't wait for more. This is definitely a gem.
