The continuation of Miiko Desu!
This time, Miiko is in the fifth grade, and the stories have become more exciting!
This series received the 1996 Shogakukan Manga Award for children's manga.
38 Volumes (Ongoing)

This series is actually my go-to weapon in introducing manga to young girls. The characters are cute, the problems are familiar, there are no 'dangerous' drawings in sight, and there is Tappei (I have to admit I've never met anyone reading this manga and not having at least a little bit of crush towards Tappei, me included ^^ ).
The more plus side about this manga is it also introduces and explains some concepts about relatively sensitive problems in its storyline, such as menstruation, leukemia, and disabilities. What amazes me is the author did that very cutely and CORRECTLY, and such combination proves itself to be an effective way to explain them more easily to a child.
The downside is, this manga has relatively long volumes with episodic plot, so you'll meet couple of Christmases, New Years, Valentines, etc, while Miiko chan and friends are forever fifth-graders. But don't let this practical problem keeping you from reading this manga. The plus side is waaaay greater 🙂
I do love Kocchimuite, Miiko!
well, in my country (Indonesia) it's become Hai, Miiko!
I don't mind about the high volume, because I really love it
thank you and ganbatte Ono Eriko-sensei! 😀
One day, I re-read my Miiko Desu!, And I realized OMG it's so fuuuun
More than this, eventhough Miiko Desu! released earlier.
Kocchi Muite! Miiko now, as I see, every volume full of romance, and I tired of those.
Where's those funny moment of them as elementary school students?
But I thought what my sister said maybe true: "Maybe the fact is like that there,"
And I remember the mangaka ever said in a volume that the readers want more romantic moment of Miiko and Tappei.
But now its number is too damn high!
