Description
Hibari, a single-minded art student with dreams of becoming a graphic designer, feels insecure about being "ordinary" compared to her peers. Gaku, a free-spirited guitarist from the same university, turns her world upside down after a chaotic encounter at a ramen shop. Hibari wants nothing more than to escape the disorder Gaku brings to her perfectly planned life. But as he slowly breaks down her walls, Hibari starts to realize that a little chaos might be just what she needs.

one dimensional characters + stereotypical setting = poser band manga?

Wannabe band manga with one-dimensional characters who have npc dialogue. I hate this cast of archetypical characters, especially the female lead. Not only is she judgmental and closed minded, she has absolutely no personality at all. The mangaka tried to make the male lead some kind of happy-go-lucky, oblivious genius but it only comes off as extremely try-hard. They have no chemistry at all; reading their romance play out actually pissed me off. It just feels insincere. Band members have one trait and that's their whole personality. And the setting and fashion is so stereotypical. Is this what the mangaka thinks band culture is? It makes me wonder if they know anything about music at all. And within the span of 5 chapters, 20 different tropes are thrown together. They're already confessing their feelings to each other and then her childhood friend who moved overseas is suddenly living with her now? This manga is an abomination. And the way they illustration style kind of looks like Yamamori Mika's..... anyway, I need to go read Nana to cleanse my palate.

Bad Pacing

What on Earth is the pacing of this story? This dude literally drags her into his home without explaining why first after she yells at him for ruining her laptop (they’re currently strangers) so she can complete her assignment in his house. You know. A random guy she doesn’t even know. They legit just kind of work on the assignment together, nothing shown feels like a very good basis for friendship or bonding, but by the next day they seem all buddy buddy, and the guy is trying to

by chapter two when they’ve had like maybe three conversations, none of which seemed to establish the basis for much of a relationship, platonic or romantic. It feels like the story skipped past the entire build up to them getting to know each other and is acting like it’s perfectly reasonable for them to be acting like friends who might be developing feelings for each other. By chapter 2 the guy seems to already like her, and it’s being treated as if it’s a serious thing, like “Oh you’re not normally serious about girls, this is unusual” and “oh he’s not a playboy” even though it still feels like they barely know each other. The story does not convince me that this supposedly not-playboy guy seriously likes the MC and is interested in

by chapter 2, I feel like I have been given no reason to feel invested in their relationship, it feels like one of those stories that just uses an attractive male lead to distract from the nonsensical romantic development because readers are too busy swooning to question why the ML even likes the FL.
