I randomly clicked this on kuaikan manhua thinking that the gong wouldn't be that crazy but I was proven wrong. The male lead as a child is already blackened and despite the main character treating him with nothing other than kindness he proceeds to manipulative, cunning and evil to the MC.
Story: MC is thrown into this world of "insane h0rny emperor gong x eunuch who treated ML nicely once shou" and to survive, he first decides to hug the thigh of the original shou (because he was afraid of the crazy emperor). However, immediately after, the eunuch ran away (the comic says he ran away, but according to novel readers he was actually killed). MC is quite smart and perceptive early on in the story. Later on, he asked a maid to treat the child ML well, asking her not to tell ML that it was him who was giving ML food and such. However, the maid accidentally let it slip and then ML knew that MC was the one who was nice to him. Around this point in time the child ML was already open to killing animals and killed a palace granny (who yes, wanted to rat him out but erm..).
Anyway, he fell in love with MC and proceeded to use his innocent child act to get MC to pity him. MC also didn't want to him to suffer as in the original story so he helped him out, also because he was going to turn to ML as his new big thigh. Alas, this is where things started to get from bad to worse. ML kept badgering MC NONSTOP and acting cute and coy and MC gave in to him because he was worried of possibility of him blackening (bruh) and at this point in time I chanced upon a spoiler that says that MC
later on gets raped repeatedly by the ML in his sleep.
which is so vile especially given that MC has been nothing but kind and caring to him. I decided to read a couple more chapters because I found MC quite charming and wanted to see more of him before dropping the series and got hit with another scene that almost sent me into qi deviation.
MC earns money by selling his erotic drawings so that he escape the palace and we can see he works really really hard so that he can save up enough money. What teenaged ML does is steal that hard earned money so that MC can't run and MC is understandably heartbroken. He proceeds to try to comfort MC which straight up irritated me. What's even more insane is that he then uses that same money to secretly commission MC into drawing erotica for him, making MC work once again to earn back the money that was originally his. I'm furious from imagining how many hours he put into this only for the ML to trample on his efforts. The money theft was my last straw. Also, I get that ML did get bullied as a child but I'm uncertain as to whether that level of bullying that he received before MC appeared (given that MC intervened when he was still a young child and gave him a better life) can really make him so vicious. Unless he was born a psycho, I feel like the reasoning for insanity isn't that clearly portrayed unless they explore it further which I have no interest in reading.
At this point in time I have to question MC's brain cells that seemed to have dissipated. He does find some of ML's actions a little off but justifies it with reasons, some of which makes sense, some of which I think are dumb. He also still allows his boundaries to be crossed over and over by ML which is genuinely frustrating to read. For example,
that random handj0b scene that sent me into confusion because there was literally no reason to not say "hell nah". Anyway, during this time ML proceeds to manipulate a bunch of the crown prince's lovers to get them to run away and after they do so, he killed them all. Other spoilers that I chanced upon also say that he also kills animals and set other people up to get raped so I guess that's it for me. What's more, the whole time he's just a beast in heat and takes every second sexually harassing the main character or thinking of inappropriate thoughts like omg if you wanted him so bad maybe do something helpful and less creepy for him??
To be honest, logically speaking, I don't see how they will end up together because even from the perspective of MC where he doesn't know ML's evil deeds, ML is mad annoying with how he keeps pushing boundaries. But then again we all know how these sorts of stories go, MC has already lost some brain cells at the time I've stopped and we know it'd be fully gone later on so that they can end up together. I guess Yandere tropes are just not suited for me but to be honest if there were more brain cells in the MC and if the gong didn't do the things to the MC that I've stated in the spoilers it would be less gross to read. I'll accept the obsessive love and jealous inclinations but the violence and theft towards the MC was just straight up nasty.
2/10 instead of 1/10 because the protagonist does have some funny internal dialogue
