Description

It’s The End! “War is Over!”

I can’t believe this is the last of the series! I pretty much liked it, but it had to come to end. This is the only one without Hans as some chapters probably set before he met Colonel Michel. The second chapter is a follow up of one chapter from previous manga. While it didn’t show a spy’s background very much, it was kinda hotter and bit sad, well ended happily though.
The fourth chapter was about a Lieutenant doting his favorite student and eventually seducing him with Michel’s help. Cheesy plot but ended ok and funny.
The fifth is about a captain giving opportunity to a foreign soldier just bc he fell in love, so they eloped easily, showing the opposite of reality.
The main story regarding Lucifer is interesting as I wanted more chapters about him from previous manga. I was surprised to see his uke side and not surprised to see a character like him to be a rebellious, stereotypical guy but want his Berger by his side, only to reject him at the third chapter for a moment. I think Lucifer totally regretted for losing him and had another lover. Despite all that, I very much enjoyed their relationship together, and it’s sad of what happened to them.
I read the series almost in chronological order, so here’s an actual order: Koutetsu no Daitenshi, Datenshi ni Sasageru Uta, dj Family Visit, Doutei Saizensen, Harem Nights, and finally this.

Mizukami's comedy series ends rather clumsily.

This particular volume is more story-heavy & lacking in the usual comedy. It mostly focuses on the brother of the protagonist from the first 2 volumes. It's a jumbled mess on the Lucifer chapters, because they are presented completely out of order.

Read in any order:
*Secret under the Bed.
*First Love.
*Sacred War of Love.

Connected stories that should be read in the following order:
*Masquarade.
*Betrayer of Love.
*Flitting Moment in the Night.
*Fake.

Fake: Lucifer Rosenberg becomes involved with a male prostitute who has a striking resemblance to himself & his Micheal. According to the characters anyway; hes significantly more petite & short. Ivan Shepherd honestly looks more like Lucifer, especially since Mizukami has decided that Lucifer is no longer blonde (even in flashbacks).

Secret Under the Bed: In the previous volume, Shepherd pursued Leonard as his lover, also accusing him of being a spy, but now the tables have turned & Leonard has become a smothering & clingy roommate while Shepherd tries to hide secrets.

Betrayer of Love: Lucifer is a notorious playboy seme, but one story takes us back 6 years to a time when he had an experience as an uke & why he hasn't been an uke since.

Sacred War of Love: A German officer falls for a soldier from India seeking allies.

First Love: A wimpy dog of a seme trying to trick a grouchy cat of an uke into dating him.

Masquerade: The story turns it's focus back on Lucifer once again, going back even further into his past with a really out-of-place story about devil worshipers ala Black Butler.

Fleeting Moment in the Night: A super-short chapter where Lucifer & Burger make out. It can only have taken place after Betrayer of Love, yet before the end of that chapter, which skipped ahead to a moment several years latter.

Okay, you need to know that this is kind of a series, but all the books have different titles. Read them in this order:
*Koutetsu no Daitenshi.
*Datenshi ni Sasageru Uta.
*Daitenshi: Harem Nights (62 page official doujinshi).
*Datenshi ni Sasageru Uta: Family Visit (18 page official doujinshi).
*Doutei Saizensen.
*Bed no Shita no Himitsu.

OMG... that character lucifer is kinda... SAD... really, he lost his true love who died protecting him and now... he is left with emptiness in his heart... oh dear that's just sad. although he find another love gabriel ( i thought it was the name 😕 ) but it seems that he is still not sated yet and can't forget about his past love... T___T

Lucifer's Story

First of all, I have to say, I give this an 8/10.

I've loved all of Mizukami Shin-sensei's works, and I especially love the ones about the Rosenberg family and the war.

I love the great artwork, the amazing OVERALL storyline, and how everything fits together. The drawings are very passionate and show great emotion and there is true romance between the characters.

However,

What angered me the most was Lucifer. I really enjoyed his character, but the way the book was set up, the events didn't fit quite right. They didn't go in chronological order. The first chapter of the this volume, Lucifer is probably in his early 30's. He's technically the seme character, and he goes to a brothel and buys a man who looks like him, and his younger twin brother, Michel. Apparently, he's become a rough type of man, who enjoys humiliating people, and watching the prostitute suffer. At the end of that chapter, it hints that he's fallen in love with him.

About 2 chapters later, it goes way back, to when Lucifer was maybe 20-25 years old. His mentor, Berger, is watching him, and Lucifer seems like he could pass off as both the seme and uke. He's turned into somewhat of a playboy, and decides that Berger is annoying and starts to dislike him. Lucifer eventually realizes that he's deeply in love with Berger and they spend nights of passion together. A while later, Berger dies while protecting Lucifer in the war, and Lucifer looses one of his eyes. Lucifer says that he's never going to love another again.

Once again, in the next chapter, it tells a story of Berger and Lucifer back when Lucifer first meets Berger. Lucifer is a haughty young man of around 15-18. He looks like a uke. Berger has fallen in love with him, and it's love at first sight. Lucifer, however, does not trust Berger yet, so when Lucifer gets invited to a party, he tells Berger not to follow him. At the party, Lucifer nearly gets raped, and at the last moment, Berger rushes in and saves him. Lucifer orders Berger to never leave his side again.

Now what's angered me is the contradiction. The stories do not go in order. It goes backwards. Lucifer also has many lovers, and even though he believed he was only in love with one person, he eventually succumbs to lust, which bothers me the most. I usually love Mizukami Shin's works, especially because of the juxtapositioning of the characters and setting. Mizukami Shin-sensei is proving to people that true love and romance between men, in the military, during World War II can exist. I just disliked how this time, it's saying that even though you vow to love only one person in your life, you can still fool around with other people. That's the only part I'm disagreeing with, and that's why I give it an 8/10, instead of my usual 9/10 or 10/10.

Lucifer's love

This one was good because we finally got Lucifer's background and why he is such a person as portrayed in the earlier volumes. I felt a tiny bit bad for him, but the series is light enough that i don't take anything seriously.
