Set in Shanghai in 1999, a culinary writer who's enjoying a happy family life is getting entangled with the Mafia after helping out a mobster childhood friend. As a result organized crime takes everything from him, his house, his family, his fiancee. With nothing left, he ends up in a sharehouse with others who have lost everything because of Mafia violence. But now these loser underdogs are plotting their revenge together.
