I second Agartha's list. Although, I was surprisingly okay with all the cliches and mildly enjoying myself, until his past came up.
Statutory rape is not okay. It's even worse because the female teacher actually had sexual relations with her student. She's a poor excuse for an educator, and a terrible adult. Her continued attempts to seduce him were revolting.
Speaking of which, along with the typical cool/flirty vibe, the male lead also had the trademark "mature for his age" image. Which is ridiculous, because this was mainly used to support his playboy habits, and then presumably supposed to excuse the
statutory rape.
As for the main character, I liked how straightforward, and honest she was, and I didn't have any serious issues with her characterization up until her foil came into the picture.
Look, I cannot stress enough how much I loathe the virgin/slt dichotomy. The whole Madonna-Whre Complex is constantly an unnecessary and inappropriate intruder in shoujo manga, and it just...ruined this series for me. It was the last straw.
Even putting aside the misogynistic parallels, their interactions were predictable, and bland. Everything the "sl*tty" and jealous ex said could have been taken out of a shoujo template, and the heroine's reaction was just as stale.
Would not rec to anyone, much less a friend.
