Bro this is one of those mangas which satirise common romance tropes.. it’s great

BUT

I cringe very easily 😭 if you’re like me, be warned I’m putting this on hold!! Will read when I have higher cringe tolerance

A Very Competent Story About Self-Image and Perception of Others

The premise of a rich, studious, and self-absorbed nerd stepping out of his comfort zone and turning his life around in an attempt to gain the spotlight he has so desired and been neglected of, and acting the part of a "main character" kept me turning the pages. Doing what he does best - studying - the ML did his part to analyze the behaviour exhibited in romance manga so he can emulate that and put up a facade of "bad boy" and become number 1. The art is eye-catching and expressive, and the frequent moments of inner monologue, introspection, and scheming on the part of the ML is one of the better aspects of the story, in my mind. The ML is a glass cannon; lacking real life experience in what he is trying to accomplish, any venturing out into uncharted territory for him could thwart to his image and would shatter his social mask and expose him as a poser and a pretender. Book smarts can only take you so far before the rubber meets the road and you have to act upon a theory.

Not satisfied with only getting the gyaru or "valley girl" types, the ML sets his sights on someone more befitting for the perfect manga protagonist position he strives to obtain. Upon meeting his match with the school's most popular girl, a former child actress, the ML's greed for possession and adoration comes to a halt. Everyone else has the same idea as him! This is where the art really shines in its comedic exaggeration you've come to expect from romcoms. People eventually develop a perception of the ML as being like a manga villain, which alters the ML's outlook on his supposed purpose at this school. This is where the manga's title comes from. The ML has to come to terms with a new challenger in the form of the dreaded "childhood friend" trope, who unintentially steals the spotlight from the ML. This is the plot's conflict and where the bulk of the remaining tension stems from. The ML calls upon "plot armour" to protect him, but to no avail when he's around the "childhood friend".

Once the story begins reaching the finale, the ML accepts his position as the antagonist to the "childhood friend" and plays his part, leaving whatever happens to fate. But things take a twist and the titular villainous prince gets his happy ending. I won't spoil the details of the ending even in this spoiler block, but let's just say that the curtain closes by re-establishing the plot's status quo, but with the ML accepting his position as antagonist.

All in all, "The Villanous Prince Can't Find Love" is an excellent two-volume bite-sized story with superb art, an interesting story, and plenty of enjoyment. It's not long enough to lose your interest and it's not short enough to leave you wanting more.

simple stories, with funny romcom and slapstick but not to much and some tragic and drama background. good balance and i really interested with this manga *i hate that dense character the fl's childhood friend like typically harem type protagonist but its okay he theres to make light what type story is it.

short and simple comment or review bc i too lazy to write it but i recommend it. it is good manga if u like story with tragic mc with some comedy and school stiry like masamune revenge. but i hope this one not so forced end like masamune. for now the plot really good but to much plot twist make bitter taste
