Totally recommend it, i binge read it in one sitting. Sure, for the first chapters might have been a bit slow developed but as the characters matured, everything fell into place and the story became more engaging and exciting, especially with the addition of the side stories.

I could go with the boring, but this forced romance...

Good LordT! Everyone, but especially the Female Lead, is so damn stupid in this. Please believe all the skeptical and "bad" reviews. I can't articulate as well as them because the story frustrated me so much that I had to come here to write SOMETHING. They're not bad reviews at all, the criticism is constructive and well worth keeping in mind if you decide to read this dull mess.

When I first started this story it was exciting and thrilling. I loved the trope of the cold brother and the sweet sister. I also loved the theme of good vs evil and challenging what is good? The quote "History belongs to the victor" comes to mind when I think of this troupe. Once the family arc is over it goes into this... troupe which when executed well is a piece of art. However in this story it feels like the FL is constantly making choices and obnoxiously moving forward despite what anyone says. Which wouldn't be so bad if that weren't coupled with her pitiful apologies and almost expectation that she gets forgiveness without acknowledging her faults.ML also isn't a peach, he's done some bad things and thought some bad things but right now... But biggest gripe is with the FL.

As another comment said, the story was pretty nice until the 47th chapter. The story after that just drags out. Most importantly, I don't see them beoming a romantic couple, it just seems forced. It would have been nice if they could just keep a brother-sister relationship that grew with their challenges and sacrifices.

Painfully boring and slow

This series started out funny and interesting, but after chapter 47 nothing really develops plotwise or characters.

The FL has an ability that allows her to see the aura of a persons heart which is a helpful skill to spot those who mean to cause her harm. The issue with the skill is how it is presented to us. We see auras change as quickly as emotions which means someone can easily be planning to kill her, but decide against it if they calm their anger. The issue with this is that the FL uses her ability as if it is a guaranteed look into a persons heart. As if she can tell a good or bad person instantly by looking at them, when her ability has been shown NOT to work that way. This means instead of her ability being something she must learn the pros and cons to wield it better, it will instead be used for plot convince.

Her second ability is also controlled by plot convenience as their is no real explanation of how to use it or any moments of her training it to become stronger. It just works. The biggest issue is she wants to keep her skills a secret, but she often uses them carelessly in front of people, even the old man she felt she should be cautious of she blindly ignores caution and visits him, even taking a tree that will prove the type of powers she has. lol

The FL has a brain, but where does it go sometimes I do not know. She knows the palace is dangerous, but she goes EVERYWHERE with literally no type of caution used. No sneaking, no checking before you run out, nothing, she just runs out into enemy territory blindly. The only real reason she is still alive is plot convenience really.

Besides all of that I did enjoy reading it. The characters don't get to really react on their own without the author forcing them in a certain direction which is noticeable, but not crippling to the story for me like other books. I am interested in seeing how the rest of the story unfolds and hope the author will give her powers some rules and let her act according to character and circumstances more.

EDIT: 82 chapters in, it's.. so so but.. I dunno. I feel like Some of the translations make it hard to read too..
