From Horobi no Michi: Kirisaki Fumio's just a highschool girl in love but then she finds out that the guy she's fallen for happens to love someone else. She decides to get a chainsaw and take it to school.
1 Volume (Complete)

Add basic premise of shoujo manga, the passion of shonen, blood and chainsaw together and you got this.
It feels like a good, bad joke. The kind of joke you'll see in certain boards, the kind of "omgwut" jokes you know is not really funny, but you can't help but laugh.
......and it's strangely augmented by the bleak reality used in seinen. The heroine's logical, rational reasoning works as a cold reality slap... Before the story took a very predictable turn in the end.
And concerning the heroine, I agreed she is a big yandere, but she's pretty reasonable, if zealous, herself. Other characters were not as interesting, tho (even the plot device); making herself the lone star of the manga.
All in all, I wouldn't want to read past the first volume if there were more, but thankfully the author knows where to stop.
this is a must read, its just amazing.i loled a lot(dunno if i should have),it is also a mind breaker.and the girl is a good example of a yandere,uf you like yanderes you have to read this manga.
BTW THERES A CHAINSAW,the most awesome weapon any1 can use.
At first it looked like it might be an interesting story following a normal schoolgirl's fall into derangement and bloodshed... it turns out to be an incredibly underdeveloped/rushed story about a not-so-normal-girl, with a nonsensical sci-fi twist. It felt like a oneshot diluted over 6 chapters.
apparently this is from an award winning work, so the original must be crazy good. however, this is just mediocre. i think the artist just unable to convey the appropriate emotions thus the characters just fell flat. everything seems forced, from the ultra cool friend to the chainsaw martial arts...i would love to love this more, so i think a more competent artist can make this better. as it is, it don't live up to such a cool title.
I´m with jedinat on this. Except the latter half of what he said. It is bad even if it wasn´t short or rushed. I didn´t feel it was rushed but it did seem to try to leave it open ended as to make a series. What a joke that is, that the writer would think this would be worthy of one.
it starts off with a girl falling into crazyness but even before she does, the manga really fails at conveying anything.
Then it gets silly. Not a good kind of silly. There´s something detached about this manga. We don´t get to see how this girl goes crazy or anything psychological. To believe those lies. It just happens, and this is a stupid work.
I like this series its...uhhh different from the stuff that i normally read. It makes you think about the stuff that main girl is going through. Also this girl is probably the perfect example of a yandere seeing how she went through this change is just a matter of a couple of days.
This was weiiiird. So in the end the heroine merely killed down a bunch of fakes, and the transfer student took the guy away? And in the end all her classmates forgave her/thanked her for killing them? Really, whut?
In a mix of chainsaws (HERS, no less), aliens and yanderes, it's just...I suppose it's the best this combo can produce?
The ending was kind of disappointing, but the rest of the manga was absolutely amazing. I don't understand the low ratings at all.
If you read this manga expecting a serious story, you fail. That this story is full of satire and craziness is obvious throughout, beginning at its cover. There is an ancient martial art using chainsaws, for pity's sake!
That being said, the ending really is disappointing. I wish the author had gone all the way in terms of craziness instead of ending the story so half-heartedly.
Still, it's only one volume and you will probably never read another story treating everyone's favorite video game weapon, the chainsaw, in quite the same tongue-in-cheek way again.
Strangely, I like gore and violence like this, acted out due to revenge. It's thrilling to see how personal issues can affect a person, although I don't believe how someone can actually kill so many people. I can understand how Fumio is feeling though.
