I honestly can’t find anything deep or particularly good about this manga.
There’s a supernatural element so there’s leniency to be had regarding certain topics, particularly as the
supernatural element is one of the dark occult kind,
but…at what point does it just become overly gratuitous? When does it shift from meaningful terror to straight-up pornographic?
The portrayal of violence against women isn’t inherently bad. It’s not a taboo you can’t show. But it doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t mean anything in this manga. Its only purpose is to move the plot forward, as
each victim so far has either been a woman or a child, or both.
It’s like…the manga does nothing to acknowledge the primary villain as being that: villainous. It’s just showcases his terrorism as something arousing and beautiful in spite (or perhaps because) of his darkness. He’s beautiful literally because he
torments women. And the MC gets off on it.
Just off the charts bad and nonsensical. If you’re looking for an interesting manga, look elsewhere. If you want a unique and compelling villain, close this book. If you’d like to see a devilish creature that fulfills its promise of showing you what true evil (indiscriminate and all-encompassing) looks like, turn away. You’ll find none of that here.
