Description

Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, meanwhile, thinks the exact opposite. To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong. Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel. What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love and oddly horny aliens and spirits?

Worth my time!

Very original and refreshing read. Plot is so different. It might be hard to get into it at first but after couple of chapters, you will be hooked.
I would say it is a very simple read despite it's weirdness and overwhelmed description.
You are not gonna worry much about the future event and will just enjoying reading whatever is presented for you and also might shed a tears on one or two occasions.
As for the characters and their interactions with each other, you gonna love almost all of them especially the main couple. I really like their interaction.
It's a manga that worth my time!
Also, no ecchi and horny instead a lot of action, school life and romance here and there.

Weirdest, most random hilarious mangas I've dug up in 2022

This manga has everything: school life, horror, weird alien shits, but you can't be scared for 2 seconds because the very next one you'll be laughing your ass off. There's some tiny bit of romance too which is cute in its own way. Loads of pop cultural references. The comment section on Jump website will have you rolled as well. The action and drawing are off the chart! How experienced is the mangaka? (Proceed to check out.)

And this is the first manga I've read that sympathises and empathises with the "bad guys" who are youkais, demons and aliens. Every single of their story are made of heart, feelings and emotions that will (very likely) leave you in tears (like I did).

Awesome translation from Kumar Sivasubramanian and lettering from Sara Linsley. And all chapters are available to read online.

I've just binge-read all 52 chapters and none of the arcs felt a bore. I really, really like this series and am eagerly waiting for what to come! (And another I'd like to mention although they are different is Heavenly Delusion).

All in all: It's good! Really really good. And it feels fresh, new, exciting and empowering (especially with such good female leads and characters). Banzai!

-Update 8 May 2023: I'm at the latest chapter "Banga". Just read it. It's a WORK OF ART TT___TT
-Update 7 August 2023: I'm at chapter 117 and this manga never tires its reader. It's now in epic sci-fi war zone. It's absolutely bonker how Yukinobu-sensei does it all every-single-week. Banzai, sensei, banzai!

This manga is a ride. The plot is unusual, the characters are great, the pacing is great, and the humor is hilarious. If you can get over the weirdness, it's a gem.

For now, I stop at the cute girl alien-- (idk her name again was). Maybe I'll continue it later... idk.
(((After skimming some latest chapter, I feel sure to just drop this and read it later again if the end already out.)))

The comedy is nice, the plot is nice, but I feel somewhere; somewhat; there's a repetitive plot going over and over again. Like a trademark that have been used, being used again... ... ..uh, I'm not good at saying nor my English is good.

It's like -> tragic story comes with power! XD
Anyw not that I hate the plot, it just I'm actually a reader that easily tired with same pattern. Unless maybe it's clearly episodic.

I've discovered this manga yesterday and I've already read all of the available chapters. The story is average but I like the art a lot. Fanservice is getting less frequent, sadly. If the romance wasn't the same beating around the bush characteristic of shounen manga, I would like it even more. But it is funny how they go on fighting classic fiends of horror stories and SF. The many references to classics like Ultraman, Spectreman, Giant Robot, Gundam and etc. are pretty good. That slited mouth woman reminds me Junji Ito works, she is quite scary. I hope it becomes an anime.
By the way, isn't gyaru a dead fad since the early 2000s? This manga started in 2021.

Japanese Demons and Aliens. Weirdness and Grandness. It's give the vibe of TG:re when certain character turned into "dragon". But here, it goes early very on. Simply put, Dandadan is mixing everything you can expect from a mystic themed story with quirk aliens theme. I am said that this comics depic great size landscape wonderfully it almost feels very real. And it adds to the mystic feels of it.

Well in anyway, I agree that some theme in it can not be unsuitable for some people, but if you can get over it, this actually can be fun to read.

Weird as hell

Right so the premise of the story is about a gyaru and nerd duo who go around exploring occult stuff, right? Well, kinda. It's also about how the ghosts keep stealing the protagonist's johnson. Never have I seen a series where complaints about how the protagonist has no balls would be so literally true.

The punchlines all lean on the absurd, from absurd monsters, absurd personalities, and absurd situations. Suspension of disbelief is so shattered by halfway through chapter 1 that it's clear the series is much more a parody of battle shounen than a battle shounen in and of itself.

From that lens, the constant cliffhangers and dearth of developed characters is fine. That said, the series' constant flitting between one-note comedy and melodrama robs both of their impacts. When none of the punchlines land, and when the drama feels superficial due to a lack of immersion, a lulsorandum premise can only take the series so far. 7/10. It's not garbage, I guess. At least it's not another generic isekai.

PS: a bug on the Pair of 2+ website replaced half of chapter 5 with an unrelated soccer manga, and I finished the chapter half-convinced it was making fun of the nonsensical extended metaphors prevalent in so many shounen. It wasn't, but it would be on-brand.

It's been a while since I've read something this good. This manga has everything- shounen, romance, comedy, horror, school life- you name it! Best of all is that it never fails to pack a punch. Absolutely hilarious, love it

The artwork, story, character development, and music in the manga and the anime is top notch. I just can’t get enough of this series. I love the combination of all the supernatural tied up so nicely with a beautiful young romance. Seeing the characters grow and evolve together even when faced with the craziest situations but pulling of the impossible together. I just get swept away by it. Do yourself a favor and read the manga, watch the anime, and look up the Soundtrack to the series. You won’t be disappointed ;)
