TBH the cover was a bit off putting for me, however the story did develop nicely. While there is coherence overall, it would have been much better if the triggering event had more of a punch in it because it was an crucial part for which not only was a cliched route chosen but even then it was just glossed over and done with quickly to get to the "real action".
I am even more saddened by the use of a cliched route for the trigger event given how the motif of flowers is used here in quite an unique manner.
