My friend introduce me to the series since she told me that this was one of her favorite. It took a long time to finally start watching it and reading it but finally.
One the first thing about the series is what the characters use for weapons. Yeah people say it strange that they have Rings, Boxes then animals, etc. I like that they just don't have those things to ware for show cause i wouild have been upset if They tounrment for the rings was just for show.
So i'm glad that the author did that. It's better then using the same weapon all the time like Ichigo from bleach using his bankai form all the time, which switches from hollow and becomes cool but only for a instance and then it goes back to that. And I believe that you can only go so far for weapons like Gokudera only has dyimate. Please someone tell me how fare can you go with that beside them being rockets. So i think that it gives them new techque and fighting styles for cool battle. And I guess you kinda can say the animals are like pokemon with the type of weapons and such but you might as well say that for any anime or story that has a animal or monster that fights beside you. So don't listen Stella Nox Fleuret for I quite disagree with him.

And for this only to satify girls is wrong. It's like saying any kind of seires that has a innoce boy or has a bunch of boys in it make it a yaoi. And to be quite honest here, you always get that from any anime series like Naruto X Sasuke even though it's a shonen. And apparently if this was a big hit in japan then apparently it not just girls that like it. And to be honest more girls like Shounen manga that actually boys do for most mangas. This is a shonen manga and of course like for allmost any kind of seires their mostly be a yaoi, yuri or hentai couple from it, no matter what. That goes for Claymore, One piece, Rurouni Kenshin, Shingeki no Kyojin, including bleach. Adn yes there are actually guys that watch this series. Even my friends who are men like this seires.

Artwork I have to say that at first when i watch the anime of season one. I did not like it. it wasn't as good as Naruto and Ichigo for where it stand but after it went on the Artwork from Artland and from the manga series has gotten so much better.

The plot I believe was a little strange and kind boring for no new villains were coming. It was just Tsuna, saving the day in his underwear which i did wanted him to stop that, but in his other forms he denfintly much better. I love right now how the plot it going, for i can mostly perdict what's going tp happen that hey! That doesn't mean it's not a good series, and there were some part where i though it was done but i was wrong. the fight a nice to watch espically Tsuna, Gokudera and to me, lambo. The villans are normal in these kind of manga series like Xanus who wanted to become the next mafia X and The villan in the future arc for is just normal that they wanted to do this or that's there plan so what's the problem.

Characters- The characters, like Hetalia are mostly all loveable, even some of the villans who is their ememy the first time, then alie the next are unique and funny. the character development for the main characters DOES change if you read long enough to see it cause in real live you can't really except people to change in just one chapter. So for Tsuna this is pretty normal that he does want to be in the maifa. Cause in most series all the main character wants to be IS normal. Also what a lot of people think and know is that the 2 main female characters do not fight in this seires. My question is Why should they have to fight? Cause They have their own reason and purpose for this series like Winry from FMA who could fix Edward automail with her hand instead of killing scar or using her hands to fight people and readers love that character. So why can't these girls be the same, for cooking and doing other things like watching over Lambo so he doesn't get into to much trouble. So they really don;t need to fight. Cause usally when they do that for female character like Orihime and such, they readers tend to say their usueless anyway. Beside that that the author has other female charcters that can fight instead of them. Otherwise the characters are funny, yet unique in their own way espically the infant characters.

Comedy-Is awesome in this series. My sister who rarely watches anime and doesn't laugh a lot found this series to be own of her favorite comedies, tha she can't help but watch it over and over again.

Fights-Some are epic some are good to watch. To me I like Tsuna's Gokudera-kun and Lambo's fight the mostly, and hey you might think of it differently. But people complain that they repeat the part where that have to train to get powers up. Well my question is...Isn't that the same for almost any shounen manga? I mean... Ichigo from bleach had to lose against Rukia's brother twice to save her and he had to gaini his powers somewhere so why does it make a difference with this series,, Partlicly any shonen manga, the characters have to train to get stronger, unless the readers just expect them to come out of thin air or something, And if the characters never lost then what's the point if you know that they're always going to win. But i must say this that sometimes i wish they9 actually win the fight first then start training like they do in Naruto, and Yu Yu hakusho.

In my own opinion I would give this manga series a shot, if you liek Comedy and if your the type that can get into the different kinds of weapons thing. I find this series another great and unique series that desreves it praise for how far the author has gotten us.I hope that they somehow finish the anime series when the manga ends.

At first i wasn't really instrested in this series but my friend tolf me about it and i gave it a shot.

Love the characters, love the comedy, love the plot.

Ppl argue that it's repeats of fights well guess what, bleach, and naruto are the same thing in not just those, but almost any action/adventure series. gotta get tough somehow. cant wait to read more.

Okay, I've followed this manga for YEARS now, so I know what its been through development wise. And I don't mean that as in plot development, I mean development as in developing an APPEAL TO READERS.

I won't lie, this manga SUCKS in the beginning. Hard. The art is simple and lacking at some points, and sometimes you wonder just where the plot crawled away and died. This is why alot of ppl drop the series unfortunately, and its a shame. It really is.

This manga won't really reel you in until you get past the first 60-80 chapters. From then on, its pure intoxicating mafia infused FIRE. The plot really hits home and STICKS and watching Tsuna develop is amazing. And You WILL notice a difference in art from the beginning to waiting for the next weekly release.

I faithfully wait for Reborn's weekly releases and I swoon over Tsuna and Enma every chance I get, which I thought would NEVER happen when I first started this series judging by the art then. But what girl wouldn't NOW when the art has turned so lush, detailed, precise; and dare I say it, even Beautiful.

Yes Tsuna... you are beautiful. Especially when you fight not for the Vongola, but for your famiglia. *tear*

SO ALL IN ALL... don't judge this series based on the first 60-80 chapters or so. Hell, you may be better off just skipping those chapters. & You can always watch the anime as a reference, too. 203 episodes total. It ends after the "future arc" roughly chapter 283-ish. This is my favorite shonen to date. Awesome story, great character development, Art quality eventually reaches otherworldly levels.

You'll be glad you gave it a chance. [:

Well first all the drawing was bad at the beginning but when the story went to the simon arc... OMG
THE ART JUST BLEW ME AWAY!!! The clothes started to look good. The characters started to look BEAUTIFUL! EVEN HIBARI KYOYA! Yes I was so happy about when he was Number One at the character poll. The story at the beginning make u want to think "yeah i see this scene at many shoujo manga or romantic shounen manga" but if you keep reading it.. you will realized the manga is way different from bleach, naruto or One piece. The comedy is good!!! The funny parts make you laugh! because it always the stupidest thing that happens to the characters and you just want to laugh >.<! I just LOVE THIS MANGA

Honestly, I really did like this manga at one point. I wasn't too sure about reading it at first because of the premise but since I had some friends who kept recommending it to me I eventually started it.

The first 7 or so volumes were mostly plotless comedy but eventually things get more serious when the Varia first make their appearance and many characters (especially Tsuna) start Taking Levels In Badass. Yes, KHR has a lot of badasses, and most of them are pretty bishie to boot. However, imo, the creativity starts going downhill after the Time Travel arc (for met at least) and as some have said the whole 'upgrade' thing especially gets old fast.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Probably the part that made me start disliking the series the most was when they all get defeated by only ONE of the new baddies after spending 146 chapters training in the future and becoming way stronger than they were originally supposed to have been. Yes, the kid may have one of those shiny new rings or whatever and the Vongola haven't gotten their upgrades yet but....seriously?

So yeah, not too much interest from me in this series at the moment though it did get quite good for a bit but now it's just ridiculous.

I like this manga. I mean, it's different from what I usually read from shounen manga (not that I read a lot) and it's amusing. I started to read this only about a month ago and stopped because it was boring at the beginning, but I decided to continue it as a summer pastime. As I read, it grew a lot stronger in plot since this whole thing is about the mafia and such. I also love the characters. They have some strong character development, but some characters seem to have no visible past though it might show up later on.

Now, about some of the characters. Honestly, some of them such as Haru and Kyoko....they don't really do much. I understand their role in the story. They support all their allies (even though don't know what the hell is happening). But they annoy me for some reason.
Other characters are good. I like how they got stronger even when they failed. They protected and fought for each other. I know shounen manga have that characteristic. But hey, if shounen manga didn't have that, I would have never read any.
I'm just rambling' on and crap.

But for shounen manga lovers out there, if you have not tried KHR before, try it. It's good reading new things. Plus, it has some awesome art.
If you have tried it but didn't like it, I'm not here to judge. Everyone has their own opinions, likes, and dislikes, and so do I.

Well to put it bluntly, for the first couple of volumes (around up to vol 8) its totally boring. Although it tried very hard to be funny I dint find it funny in the least so I skipped most of it which is something I seldom do. I started reading it in the past but dropped it until I heard from a friend that it gets better in the later volumes and rightly so after volume 8 it really gets better. I liked the whole new concept it introduced and I admit it gets really interesting (although I still find the main character very annoying but if I go into that it would take all day), but after a while it gets repetitive and annoying like fotzi mentioned below and after volume 30 the manga goes down the drain again.

Overall I think the manga is very inconsistent, a bit childish and gets really annoying in the later volumes (partly because of the main character), although I'll admit there were some arcs in between that I found interesting but overall I think the manga is so-so, so I will rate it a 6 out of 10.

The manga was good until Varia arc. After that it started getting plain annoying! The characters always have to power up by "awakening" new gadgets and there is no character development. The "strong" girls are desparately weak (even though they started as badasses) and every single time Tsuna has to come save the day just to return to his old wimpy self and give no space to other characters to develop. Despite that, I have to admit that the art is VERY good.

This story is actually very good and if given a chance could prove to be a favorite for a lot of people. It starts of rather slow.... Well extremely slow actually, spanning 7 volumes worth of character introductions and bridging connections to all of them. Considering how long that takes to get through, it turns out to be a worthwhile payoff for the reader. Cause when the action gets serious and heavy you actually get thrown for a loop when it really hits you. A lot of people complain about the main protagonist's meekness as well. I actually think it's an essential and well thought out quality considering how powerful off a character he really is. It's a simple way of keeping him down to earth and not making him conceded like his foes who share similar positions as him. All together this is actually a better manga than it seems and it's worth anyone's time, if they're willing to give it a chance.

I read this on a recommendation. Even though I barely survived through the Introductory Arc I decided to keep reading it as it got a little bit interesting.
All the fighting is amusing, but the enemies are all the same every time. I personally didn't see much development. It gets boring and repetitive after a little while.
Also, Tsuna's personality disgusts me. There are a million heroes just like him and I honestly hate them all. It's pathetic and I would've like him better if he had a bit of a stronger will. I must add this, but I love Reborn, I was most amused by him.
I don't see how this is a mafia manga, sure they mention it a lot, but I don't see it really.

I must admit I like the art, and the only reason I'm reading this is probably because I like the idea of pairing up Hayato, Gokudera and Tsuna in his hyper dying will mode. Ohohoho. (don't missunderstand, you need a bit of imagination as the manga itself doesn't give any fanservice)

Well, all in all, it's an ok read for passing the time and Reborn is awesome, but nothing more and could be less. I will continue to read it as I get quite stubborn after going this far into a series, but I find it quite forgettable.
My original rating was 3.5, but I raise it to 5 just for the lil guy <3
