All in this was pretty good. Hits the spot for short horror stories, and most of the horror didn't seem out of left-field (characters having bad things happening to them for no reason).
Short Summaries of the stories if you think you'll be too scared, although honestly I've never really been scared with a shoujo-style manga:
Story 1: A young rebellious girl runs away with a cute bracelet that was supposed to be delivered to a shrine, but finds out that there is a ghost attached to the bracelet.
Story 2: I can't remember what happens in this one (^_^
Story 3: A young spirit medium is asked a favor by a friend to play Ouji, and of course shit hits the fan.
Story 4:This story has forever ruined the name "Pino" for me (;_; ). And I loved Pino from Ergo Proxy. Girl with new boyfriend finds out that her childhood doll has attachment issues and is trying to get in the way of their relationship.
Story 5: A girl who has many friends starts to doubt just how true those friendships are....
Story 6: Haruka helps out a new girl at school, and slowly this new girl becomes much "closer" to Haruka than she is comfortable with.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Cue a kind-hearted classmate who is spiritually sensitive saving her sorry ass.
Story 2: I can't remember what happens in this one (^_^

Story 3: A young spirit medium is asked a favor by a friend to play Ouji, and of course shit hits the fan.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Cue her (boy)friend getting targeted and possessed by the demon for screwing up and stepping on the ouji paper, and then she and her other friend try to summon another spirit to send the old one back.
Story 4:This story has forever ruined the name "Pino" for me (;_; ). And I loved Pino from Ergo Proxy. Girl with new boyfriend finds out that her childhood doll has attachment issues and is trying to get in the way of their relationship.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Cue a confrontation, and then all's well that ends well :>.
Story 5: A girl who has many friends starts to doubt just how true those friendships are....
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Cue being approached by a mysterious girl who turns out to be a ghost that has killed off all the people she deleted from her contacts. And then right when she's saved by her one true friend, she's stabbed by her because she caused her other friends to die..
Dang this one was darker.Story 6: Haruka helps out a new girl at school, and slowly this new girl becomes much "closer" to Haruka than she is comfortable with.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Basically the new girl starts copying everything she does including hairstyle and manners, and slowly takes over her life. Cue Haruka being hit by truck-kun in the end.
Dang these last two actually had bad endings for the main characters.
Decent horror anthology

A collection of fair to good horror tales. Here there be ghosts, witches, demons, and doppelgangers to entertain and frighten you.
The stories vary in quality, but all are easy reads. You won't feel bogged down by a story you don't like. I especially enjoyed "Haunted Afternoon" and "My Place in the World", both of which have great surprise endings.
The art varies a little, but the style is fairly similar in all. This style doesn't work well for horror stories, IMHO, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the stories. Overall the quality of art is fair, and very good in some stories.
The scariness factor of the volume is medium-low, and nothing terribly shocking happens. Even so, you can expect at least one of the stories will make you feel creepy.
Recommended for fans of horror, and for readers who just want something quick and not too intense.

Not bad for a horror compilation...

I often finish off manga horror stories thinking, "Wait... This was supposed to be scary?" Well, these aren't really *scary*... but they're definitely creepy and a bit disturbing in spots. They could've definitely been better, but they could've also been MUCH worse. Bottom line is, I enjoyed reading this compilation - which is something I can't say about most of the horror manga I've tried.
