Beautifully dark is a good way to describe this oneshot. The plot really moves and I like that. I'm not sure if it's good that I'm sympathizing with a serial killer after reading this, but it doesn't feel like a bad thing.

This mangaka draws some pretty dark things but this one is the darkest. I liked it, the main characters were two equally sad people. I felt bad for the Earl, who due to what happened in the past became sick and twisted. He just wanted to love someone and be loved back. Mary was a gentle girl with a tragic backstory. Seeing her brother in the earl made her associate with him and in the end give him one last parting gift. But in the end he couldn't stand it anymore. It made me super sad. I understood his loneliness.

(About the doll mary...she just creeped me out)

A twisted oneshot, so no it isn't the mangaka's typical sugary shoujos. The art is a bit gaudier than her usual, but it fits the story very well. Well, what can I say (I suck at reviews)... I highly recommend for those that like short, good oneshots.
