Boring

The comedy was definitely not for me. Didn't like any of the characters besides the FL. Nothing in the story caught my interest.

And I hate stories that put females against each other, just not for me

one of the best comedy, romance manhwas

I wasn't actually interested in reading this first but the title got me and I tried it. Wow, god damn I got addicted even without knowing. The comedy and references are the best. And of course romance, it's really slow-burn but worth waiting. Also people are complaining about the art style but for me it's really cute. Till now, I have reread this about three times.Earlier chapters are mostly about comedy so some people may not like it. At first I thought I might get bored but then I got addicted. That's why give it a try because who knows, you may need this!

the light hearted one with the popcorn and magic

- Plot: The description might make you think that there are three potential MLs for the FL, but the story makes it clear fairly early on that this isn't the case.

- Characters: Only the antagonist (and the princess, I guess?) get any kind of character development, and the rest of the supporting cast are pretty 2D-- but this seems intentional. This manhwa satirizes the otoisekai genre, so the supporting cast's actions and dialogue are pretty generic/cliche (and usually played for laughs).

- Art: Kinda meme-y, but not terrible.

This is absolutely hilarious. I'm not necessarily someone who seeks out comedy as a genre when looking for a manga but this made me laugh so much that I accidentally woke up my father. The way they handle the genre is awesome, Latte is incredibly original and it shows. She doesn't try to interfere or become the protagonist, like any fangirl would have done, she makes popcorn and sits down to watch the drama unfurling in front of her eyes. It's hilarious.
The romance is really slow, but definitely worth the wait because it just gets so satisfying when it finally happens. I also liked the fact that it wasn't the focus but rather something that happened afterwards as a result.
I really appreciated the way they handled a lot of delicate matters with this manga.

The Duke's stalkers, why Arwin and Ibelin turned out the way they did, Ibelin's mental problems, Perodit's behaviours etc.
It made it a lot more realistic and relatable, also reminding us that this is a modern woman who transmigrated into a novel.

I'm obsessed.

I'm obsessed with this female lead.
I'm obsessed with this webtoon.
I'm obsessed with this genre.

This was impossible to put down. I literally ignored real life to finish this. I could not stop. The female lead is AWESOME. She has so much personality. She is hilarious. I want to read more stories with leads like this! I cackled out loud numerous times while reading this. This author has some comedic talent!

My only issues with this story were as follows:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
1. I wish there were more scenes with the princess.
2. Why was the prince even there? He was really useless.
3. What actually happens to Ibelin? Does she land the prince? I'm guessing no.
4. Why isn't there more emphasis on the popcorn business? It gets introduced, but never takes off as a real plot point.

Also, one thing I was super happy about was that
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
there is the only one real love interest for our goofy female lead. The others aren't actual rivals so we evaded some unnecessary drama. WHOOP.

Anyway, I loved this so much. Time to go binge every single completed isekai romance webtoon in existence. I will never get sick of this.

one of the funniest isekai manhwa!
by torpidowl

this manhwa is REALLY good. i could not put it down! i kept on pressing "next chapter" because i always wanted to know what happened next, but not in an angsty, terrified way.

in Miss Not-So Sidekick, we follow our leading lady, Latte (or Kim Hye-jung in the real world), who gets teleported into her favorite online novel as a side character. her goal is to watch her favorite scenes play out one by one in person with a bucket of popcorn by her side.

at first glance, it feels like your typical isekai at first, but the humor is wonderful and seriously makes up for the basic plot. Latte, the MC, is so quirky and hilarious to read about! her reactions and interactions with the other characters are incredibly funny. her personality is extremely entertaining, and the situations she gets mixed up in are way too good. she is also VERY GOOD at communicating effectively, something that is rarely found within romances.

i noticed that some of the other reviews claimed they didn't like the art, but how?! i don't understand how someone would dislike it. the colors, mood, proportions, and line art are always so beautiful; definitely one of my favorite art styles i've seen by far.

there are art style changes for meme-y panels, which makes this manhwa SO MUCH FUNNIER. every time they pop up, i get a heart attack from the laughter.

and, my GOD. the men in here are SO DREAMY. HOW THE HELL CAN THEY BE THIS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD-LOOKING?! half the time i was reading this, i was half-whispering, half-squealing, "ohmygodheissohot!" while thirsting with the other side characters. they're so handsome they literally blind everyone in the comic.

if you're a weeb, then bonus points for you, because this author is so weeb-y that they put in anime and manga references any chance they get. there are also korean and international pop culture references, which are hilarious and super relatable.

something that i'm a teensy weensy bit disappointed about is that for the whole story, we were constantly told about the personalities of certain characters, but we were rarely ever shown it. also, the pacing, especially towards the end, is a little rushed, though it's not too surprising. the author could've extended the story for 10 or 20 more chapters; the ending gave enough closure for the main characters, but not so much for the side characters. i definitely would've liked to see more of that.

overall, i can confidently say that this one of my favorite isekai manhwa. Miss Not-So Sidekick is an AMAZING and EXTREMELY worthwhile read, something that all isekai/comedy fans should check out; i swear, every single chapter never failed to make me laugh. i can't wait for you to see where it takes our popcorn-obsessed leading lady!

Isekai (almost a parody thereof), Multitude of Facial Expressions, Fangirls
by Jerberus
November 15th, 2020, 9:01pm
Rating: 10.0  / 10.0
This manhwa is one of the funniest tsukkomi's (pretty much almost a parody of the isekai genre) that I've read so far. The random fugly facial expressions add so much to the humor, not to mention all of the references to different Japanese manga thrown about from the female lead, who was isekai'ed from Earth and put into the body of a tertiary character (as the title suggests). A fan of the novel the new world is based on, she knows of the events that will happen to the female protagonist, so she goes to each place as a spectator...only to change the flow of the story by being able to emphasize with others through knowing/learning their background.

The story's emphases are on popcorn, 3D blue/red movie glasses, magic that makes one float/fly/teleport, and 3 male leads that seem disinterested in/mean toward women. I repeat: those random faces that they make are hilarious (albeit often ugly for the sake of humor).

I laugh so much at how this story makes fun of the isekai genre while having a plot that makes total sense in regards to relationships between characters, and even points out the horror of fangirls and stalkers and how that affects famous people. It uses curse words to create antagony between the characters despite their nobility. The author’s/translator’s naming sense is non-original, but it’s hilarious!
