The closest things I can compare this to is a Korean webtoon called "Fight On Yeo Manager," even though the protagonists had completely different goals. As well as a Chinese webtoon called "The Emperor Is a Gay" & a vintage manga called "Lashanu," but the MC is a girl. She's fairly similar to Chitose Fujinomiya from "Goldfish Warning" except that instead of romance, she just wants a buffet of man booty.Lastly I could say that this is the polar opposite of "Kiss Him Not Me."
Another way to describe the series... Imagine being a non-fujoshi, but all the otome games you play are BL.Or imagine being the 4th wheel in a love triangle.
This is a fresh take on the reverse harem genre, because the MC WANTS a harem, but the harem doesn't want her. Like playing otome games & getting all the bad endings.
I would also say that the MC is relatable with realistic weeb interests, like Konata from Lucky*Star. I have quite a few boy-crazy friends who are absolutely bonkers over Kpop idols, Cosers/Cosplayers, & Wuxia TV series actors. & when she talks, it's like reading hilarious shitposting on Twitter.
She's selfish, disloyal, & salty, which is really refreshing when you're sick to death of selfless crying damsels who pine after one guy forever.
The art... All the boys look like something right out of Gintama. In fact, when Himeki makes a weird face, it sometimes makes me think of Gintoki.
I REALLY hope that Motokare sees this series all the way through, because the dialogue used in these translations takes the relatability & the humor to peak levels.
Despite the BL undertones, this is genuinely a shoujo series that even men could enjoy. It's almost memeworthy.
