i read a manga called Girlfriend

well some reviews on the books

the reviews were saying that the characters and relationships between the different characters in that book were realistic

but it didnt seem realistic to me, it seemed ... well ... rediculous and unrealistic (as entertaining as it could possibly be)

but i was wondering if it might just be me, if girlfriend is actually somewhat realistic and i was just missing something ...

I have to say, I'm impressed with the broad range of personalities and situations in this title. At first, the short, single-chapter stories felt frustrating. I found myself getting attached to the characters and really wanting to read more about them. But that feeling soon faded and I found myself really looking forward to each new chapter, eager to find out what the characters were like, and how things would happen. I really enjoyed the candid view of the relationships and experiences. The author really had no fear in depicting these kids acting exactly as kids do in real life. Some of them are assholes, some sweet and caring, but even the more "negative" of the characters were depicted such that you realize they're just human. The characters are all genuine, true-to-life believable, and I really enjoyed the experience.

The whole of this title feels kind of "ecchi", but I'd be hesitant to call it that --this feels more mature, probably because rather than all of the "sexy" moments being gratuitous, they really do build depth of character while also being an integral part of the story.

The artwork is top-tier, too. Also of note: there's some HOT kissing in this one.

Well, whatever. Start-to-finish, Girlfriend is an easy A+. Go read it!

I love this manga.

A collection of short stories revolving around the "Girlfriend" theme, the mangaka obviously isn't aiming to develop any sort of characters or story here and it's great like this.

What I love about it is that for fucking once in fiction, the guys are not portrayed as the bad guys in the relationship, instead most of the time they are the victim.

I loved the way the whole stereotypical boy/girl power relationships were completely ignored and shows a side of life that people don't often know or talk about.

It really touched me this manga did.

The art is amazing too, although the breathtaking art only appears at the beginning of each chapter, usually depicting the girl. It is used nicely to intro the characters, and works well to make u feel drawn to this Pretty girl, as if you were in the shoes of the guy that is focused on.

But if your gonna read this just to fap, don't bother, it's not aimed for that and you will be disappointed if you think otherwise.

It's a powerful sentiment for any guy who has ever felt unfairly treated in their relationship, or been hurt by someone they love. An issue that is rarely addressed, over looked by the typical boy hurts girl scenario. The mangaka has done well to show this, even though it is true that it is exaggerated in some ways, but I think this is justified for his thoughts to be conveyed properly.

Ignore most of these reviews..everyone is looking for some romance manga that can make them feel better about the crappy love lives they really have.

This manga is absoluetly excellent, not just in art, but in observing the human psyche. Face it, we all are fucked up, and this manga deals with these complex emotions in a very strong and well-thought out manner. highly recommend it if you want something to think about. Go read naruto if you just want inspiration.

Much more hit than miss

Overall I think this is a very good manga. I enjoy the format, artwork, and most of the plots. I am particularly fond of stories about Uehara Minami and Takatsu. These just seems really real for me. These are all flawed people, some more so than others. Cheating, sex, love, etc are simply part of relationships. Some complain that the girls seem slutty or are whores, I simply don't see it. Ain't much in the world hornier than high school kids, cept maybe college students.

I actually give it an 8/10, but I need to raise the average rating for this series. This manga is showing the reader the other type of relationships that exist - the kind you won't find in shoujo manga - which is something most people should know about.

One of the worse manga i've ever read. All the stories are basically the same and are mainly focussed on sex. This doesn't have to a bad thing, but the stories have really bad plots, and the characters are even more disgusting, especially the female characters, who are portraited as manipulaters and cheaters. The male characters aren't any much better; they never show any kind of backbone or common sense and are easily persuaded by the females or by their own weird, illogical and senseless morals.
It's a really a shame though, because the art really looks nice.

I loved this manga, but from now on whenever I see a girl with glasses in a manga, for some reason I'm starting to hate her. The glasses girl was a real bitch, I'm hoping her husband-to-be dumps her after she quits her job to help him for the company. Other than that I loved all the stories.
