Despite what many people feel that the setting is too slow and gets repetitive all I can say is that the repetition is not pointless at all, nor does is the pacing excessively slow. It's completely alright.
Example; Hiro's and Ritsu's dialogues overlap. Not in the sense that they both think/say the eact same thing (although this also happens) but that you wouldn't know which character is saying it definitely, so the best choice is both.
As for the repetition its used as the transition period between the past and the present. That's why it happens so often, and this is exactly why I love this repetition. It's is artfully used here without being repetitive (Ha, good pun, if I say so myself).

I really adore the title story. It's imperfect I admit, but imperfect in a perfect way, if that makes any sense. I just.. I just like it very much, from the premise, the characters, the developments, the art (the chibis are way cute and funny). Contrary to people's opinions, I think the pacing is just perfect for that genre of a story, neither illogically sudden nor painstakingly slow. It takes time for such story to sink in and let readers empathise with the characters' emotions.

About the extra story though, I don't know if I have been able to fully understand what it truly means. In the end the idea did manage to come across, but vaguely at that. I just hope it had a bit more of a conclusion, that's all.

I like the slower development in the story a whole lot!
I mean, finally a yaoi again where the main guy does NOT just go ahead and rape his love interest, speeding the story up just so you get a sex scene within the first chapter!
It's a lovely story of a man who's been in love with his childhood friend for 10 years and how he deals with it, working hard to keep it a secret while wishing he could confess and how it hurts to deal with the situation.
If you enjoy love stories and the suffering that unrequited or secret love brings, then you might like this one! Happy End included~

i disagree with pleochroic i think you can tell from hiros face that he was a little surprised to see that his friend is gay. and i dont feel like hiros feelings are random at all, in the beginning he even says that his friend is more important than his girlfriend. i think he was always in love with him, but he was trying to deny his feelings. look at how he blushes after catching him masturbating to his pic. i mean come on they acted way too close from the start. this author is good at writing emotion into just an expression, if your not paying attention you will miss it

what's with the repetition? it's usual that a little bit gets repeated for a story in serialisation to catch news readers up and remind prior readers what happened last time, but it seems a lot more than usual here. there is also a major continuity error which interferes with the plot, and threw me out of the story. aside from that it's the usual story of one friend pining away for the other one for years without telling him. we spend a lot of time in ritsu's head, listening to him repeat the same things to himself.

both people here do not always act in ways that make sense to me. frex, hiro pretty much gets told what's up by ritsu's boyfriend-du-jour, but he shows absolutely no reaction to that at all. i disagree with @voraciouszest that the characters are honest; neither is, not with the other, nor with their lovers. and i got tired of it. it's not like ritsu is a champion of straightforward communication, but hiro might as well be a rock. which means that in the end i have no idea exactly why he comes around; we never hear anything about him possibly developing feelings for ritsu, or having had them for a long time and just not realising what they meant. heck, he even acquired a new girlfriend after dumping the one ritsu knew about, which is AFTER hearing from the boyfriend; WTF?

so yeah, unsatisfactory, and i can't say i ended up liking the characters; mainly because they were uncaring jerks to the other people they were dating. it's interesting that this bugs me so much here, because i am not always hard on characters who cast off previous lovers in a heartbeat -- but here i got annoyed; probably because i thought the true feelings were already on the table, and yet hiro at least carried on like before. after all that, the ending felt incredibly rushed, and not genuine.

which is a shame, because the ending had some really sweet parts which i would otherwise have greatly enjoyed.

Love 'Love'

I'm quite a big fan of Konno Keiko. It's not that I think her style is excellent, or that she writes an intriguing story. What captures me most are her characters. For a person like me who finds weak and girly uke's the most difficult character to swallow, Konno's work is a breath of fresh air.
In Love Me Thru the Night we meet two young men standing on the cusp between friendship and lovers. Ritsu is aware of his attraction to his long-time friend, while Hiro simply feels that his emotions are those any normal person might feel.
The story has been described by others as slowly paced, and in some ways it is. However, compared to Konno's other stories (Kawaii Hito, for example) Love Me Thru the Night is about the realisation and beginning of a love relationship in comparison to one which has already, or quickly been, developed.
There are a few annoying aspects to the story, such as the repetition of the same lines throughout the first few chapters. It's pretty much a minor thing, though.
You'll like Love Me Thru the Night if you enjoy the Slice of Life genre, of which it is a good example. I think that it's a relaxed and sweet type of story, with a pair of characters that are honest and awkward. At the very least, give it a go.

I thought the lead-up was slow, but very sweet, but the end did seem very rushed. The extra, though, was awesome in an enigmatic, almost melancholy sort of way.

more than half of the story is a repetition of the first chapter, then at the end there's an almost quick wrap-up ending. nways, aside from nice art style, the story is reeeeaaaaallly unsatisfactory. read it when you don't have anything better to read....sorry fans ^^;
