Mixed feelings. Rating is solely because of the ending.

So just to clear things up, this is a webtoon/comic (not sure on the distinction, if there is one) of a webnovel by Toika (ToyCar). He's done other ones like Everyone Else is a Returnee, Stop, Friendly Fire!, I Reincarnated for Nothing, and Infinite Competitive Dungeon Society. If you've read any of them, you know his style. I personally love almost everything he's written, and yes, I have read EVERYTHING that has been translated. He's actually pretty popular, with a very high translation ratio, with nearly everything fully translated.

And considering how much this one follows the formula of his other works, I LOVED the novel. It's really fun, and frankly one of my better liked of his. (not his best, but if I had to make up a ranking, it'd be in the upper half).

So why does the ranking have a 5? Because it stops abruptly at 60 chapters. It was actually axed. I'm not entirely sure why, but I hope it was because of an artist issue, rather than a monetary issue, because given how popular the author is it would've been almost guaranteed views for them. But again, i have no clue why.

So yeah, it's a fantastic story, rife with the author's stereotypical tropes, like humor, 4th wall breaking, weak-to-strong character progression, harem, and just lighthearted fun. But THIS ADAPTATION is a hardcore fail.

To be frank, check it out a bit, and then go read the novel, which has been fully translated. I definitely recommend the novel (and nearly everything Toika has written, tbh), but this is just such a waste of time.

60 chapters to promote a novel

The beginning is fresh and interesting. However, just when the preparations are finished and it can become more interesting, it ends abruptly with a "read the novel to see how it'll be".
I'm angry at myself for wasting my time on this, even if i first enjoyed it, and surely will never read the novel.

I don't understand how authors can write isekai stories with slave markets, and then have the MC enthusiastically go to the slave market intending to buy people, without once remarking on the ethics of the situation.

Incidentally, the slave market is government-managed, and the MC is the son of the local lord. Also, (some of) the children are in debt slavery because their parents were killed by a dungeon outbreak, and you'd think the lord would be responsible for preventing that, or for compensating the victims, but apparently not O_o.

In conclusion: ew.

Novel

Just like as what i disliked about the novel is the same here. MC is trying to prevent dying but so far there is barely any hint of any threat to him for such an unfortunate character. It makes the story rather boring.

read till chapter 19 but i'm familiar with the novel and author
If theres one thing you can count on Toika (author) for, its consistency.
its not anything even close to groundbreaking or treading un seen tropes. Nah, its very direct and predictable
But it is at least consistent, and pretty entertaining
for that i'll give it a 9. and also cause the novel is completely translated in case you get curious enough to read.
Its a 7 in general but a 7 throughout the novel which levels it up to a 9 cause you can expect it wont suddenly have a massive drop in quality like so many other things do.

Very Boring

The plot is basically what it says in the summary. It's about a gamer who is reincarnated into a game character who is an extra that always dies. So, he's determined to do anything to survive. And that's basically it. His achievements are mistaken as good deeds, but in truth it is just another way to keep him from dying. The first 20 chapters so far is about training, looking for useful artifacts/equipments, searching for useful strong people to protect him and more training. And what makes it even more boring is the fact that he's always explaining about cheats, equipments and etc. from the game. Having to read 20 chapters about cheats, bugs and techniques on how to fight monsters put me to sleep.
