When I first saw this manga, I was really a big fan of Sanzo. I loved the foul language and how Sanzo's always smacking Gojyo and Goku on the head. Hakkai was such a sneaky bastard with that wicked smile. But...I felt like the animation/manga raised a lot of questions, things that I didn't understand at all. Now, don't even call me stupid. Artwork is one thing, story is another, and action is another another... This manga had good artworks...the action isn't the best...but the story had nothing. It was just simply "go to the west".

Now, I'm more interested in the Saiyuki God series because it doesn't journey anywhere; (I don't know their god names so I'll just stick to their human names), Sanzo is too busy taking care of Goku while Goku is only interested in playing, especially with Nataku. Gojyo and Hakkai are best friends who decided to help poor Sanzo in dealing with Goku, resulting in the plan of escaping Heaven. I don't know if it's still ongoing but I am looking forward how they escaped.
