2 Volumes (Complete)

It is great and a worth short read. The ending get me bawling my eyes. Im gonna check out the live action. And it is Kato first novel, I'm impressed. I hope he will write more.
To be frank, this story is underrated.
It actually talks about the darker sides of life, especially in the celebrity business. If you become famous, it can be absolutely overwhelming for some people. Even if someone is famous and lives with piles upon piles of money, they're still human. They can still become emotionally distraught by their lives.
I'm actually fairly shocked Shigeaki Kato was able to write such a story (as being a male idol doesn't leave much to the imagination in terms of where talent lies). I think it goes without saying that I was pleasantly surprised by this gem being produced.
As for the manga adaptation itself, I personally am not a big fan of the art. The style does indeed resemble Io Sakisaka's but the lines are a bit stiff and probably too shoujo-y for this tale. Regardless, Fujisaki's expressions are good enough for the characters to be believable.
I'd give it a 8/10 mostly because the manga adaptation doesn't really "live up to" my standards for the story. The manga is not bad by any means but there could've been a different choice for the artist to portray the tragic, psychological theme better.
I think the genre should be added
as tragedy. I've read the raw and it turned out that both of them are dead. I know that it was tagged as suicide but cmon...Now if you like tragedy and bittersweet ending then this manga is for you. But as it's not really my cup of tea it leaves me a really bad taste afterwards. HOWEVER as I said before it's a good manga
Read this if you're a fan of bromance! For a moment I wondered if the manga is shounen-ai, but nope, it's shoujo with male lead, focusing on male friendship-- something I totally adore! (I like shounen-ai too, but I prefer stories about friendship than romance/sex.) So happy about this release <3
It's interesting, moving, at times dramatic, slice-of-life-ish and realistic, fresh. Not cliche at all. I couldn't tell what happens next. The art is pretty, the guys handsome (even as kids). The art reminds me of Strobe Edge, Ao Haru Ride-- for a moment I thought it's the same artist.
Kato Shige, ah what can I say about him.
Other than finally being able to read and understand his debut story Pink to Gray I'm so so happy. (Also thank you to Lost n Found for translating and making this available to his fans!)
So yes as you can tell I'm a Kato Shigeaki fan, and dear god I can tell why this story got so much buzz because every time I finish a chapter I'm just aching to read the next part.
Without spoiling too much, 3 chapters in the story is about a boy looking back on his friendship with his best friend. It's a nostalgic and painful road for him but he does it because he actually enjoys reliving the memories he has with his best friend. It reminds him of the way things used to be when he was happier and when he understood the man he now sees on T.V.
In a way, I don't think they really had many other friends so being left behind I guess symbolizes his loneliness even more extremely because he's left behind by the one person whose always been with him? (I want him to have more friends..but really so far guys...not happening)
So far I haven't really understood anything from his best friend's perspective but I'm looking forward to that part. There's a lot that's unexplained about him but he's this enigmatic presence in the guy's memories, and a strange 2D image in the present.
Totally looking forward to more 😀 can't wait! Also the art is quite nice by Fujisaki Mio 😀 it totally doesn't take away from the story and her expressions are gorgeous!
