i find myself re-reading this series numerous times and seriously, i cannot wait to read the second volume! it's perhaps one of the best yaoi mangas out there~
The artwork by Itsuki Kaname is, no doubt, very, very beautiful with its intricate details and smooth linework. The story too is very intriguing with an overall sense of bitter love but at the same time with elements of humour and etc..
I am very curious about how this story will turn out~

i remember that sudden wave of sadness upon reading the part where kichou and kagerou looks out to the outside world from the roof. ah, the atmosphere is perfectly captured.

Hmm, it's actually really interesting and it captured the lead characters' feelings very well. Also, the story flows very well for a compressed storytelling format and not once do the scenes drag or skip. The difference between the brothel and the outside world is portrayed very well in the art and even the story.

In fact Mede's so intriguing and captivating, I found myself re-reading this.

I am not a huge fan of yaoi, but by some reason I really like it...
May be is because of the fact that the art is very very beautiful?

this is one of the best yaoi mangas I've read. The story line is cute and the art is sooooooooo beautiful! The only con about this is that supposely the project went on hiatus? I'm not too sure but even the raws are nowhere to be found. But anyways I believe it's going to be a happy ending I can feel it!!!!

Don't say that you can see a sad ending! You might jinx it... or give the mangaka some bad ideas. Not that I think that she reads this, but still why take the chance?

Anyway, it really is a great manga. Good story, beautiful art. I just hope that the manga will continue soon. I really want to know what happens next!

I must say her drawings is the best in this manga. The historical story is quite entertaining and the smut factor are decent. Yeah, Itsuki Kaname had balanced everything in this highly recommended story...(3)// hurray

Unexpectedly, I noticed it was complete, so I gave a go at reading the whole thing.
Like last time, the first volume is quite captivating, but it gets random and silly as the series progresses.

All the damsel in distress thing really ended up grinding my gears. Kageru is so freaking helpless the whole entire time. I guess it's typical yaoi for you. The "sequel", or volume 3 was quite random. Their departure and life together could have been very interesting if done correctly, but again, it was just a stronger uke/seme dynamic once Kichou got his freedom, cut his hair, saved his princess and swept her (er, him) away on the metaphorical white horse.

Sure, it's dramatic, beautiful and interestingly placed, but unfortunately this series lacks any natural development, falls into many cliches and ultimately delivers a sweet, yet unimaginative ending.

On the plus side, the sex throughout is quite hot.
I like how sadistic the mangaka gets with her characters. ;p

thought it's only the 1st scanlation out, but i think this manga story has loads of potential - with an interesting story to boot, since it's based on something historical. The drawing is flawless and beautiful - and all the kimonos are really pretty... i'm anticipating the next chapter..
