A man is reading a newspaper and is excited by a recent archaeological discovery of a series of metal artifacts in Shimane prefecture. It is Shigeru Mizuki himself, who rushes into the museum to see that discovery, and is overwhelmed by the quality of the findings. Mizuki plunges into a reinterpretation of Japanese folklore, using the artifacts found to explore and reinforce the folk tales of one of the oldest known written documents from contemporary Japan, the Kokoji.
