Kei is a quiet student who doesn't really like adults or teachers too much. However, after getting to know her English teacher, she begins to fall for him.

I know the whole teacher-student relationship manga genre can get horribly cliche and cheesy and ULTRA unrealistic, but I have to give it to Mochizuki Karin and this manga because the plot is thought out so well and what's even more, it's executed beautifully. As the other reviewers mentioned, most of the lovey-dovey scenes are mere hints for us readers...It's all implied but it's not concrete. Although I can see that this type of plot device can be a disappointment to many readers, I really loved this subtlety with this story. Definitely give this manga a go if you want a sweet, slice-of-life, realistic manga!
My only wish is for Mochizuki Karin to come back to drawing manga...I really miss her work!
A beautiful take on a teacher and student relationship. The guy is at least descent enough to put a barrier between them until later (and is not smutty in the least) He is hilarious..And the story does take a while to build up...like others say...the only fault is that the ending is too sudden (and does not wrap up the story >_<)
I'm not really a fan of teacher/student pairings because I feel there are so many ways to do it wrong. This manga is one of the few of that particular relationship type that I've enjoyed (along with Sensei!) I understand the complaints about the lack of love scenes but for me that's part of the appeal of the story, the quiet understatedness of the their relationship. It suits the story, the mood and the personality of both characters. And after all, they ARE hiding their relationship so it's more realistic that they'd restrain themselves. It also adds to the sweetness of the 'romantic' moments they do have. I was more moved by the scene of the two of them holding hands in the dark than I have been by a lot of the other 'romantic' scenes in most of the shoujo I've read.
The story COULD have potential but it always stayed on the same level.. A big disappointment imo.
although it might be considered a very slow paced story, i find it perfect.
what makes it good is how realistic and simple it is..
honestly, i usually HATE teacher-student relationships in mangas, but i thought id give this a try; and i dont regret it!!
however the only complaint id have, it that its ending is kind of sudden..the mangaka should have showed some of their develop relationship in the future...
all in all, i still LOVE it! ^ ^
This love story is gentle, innocent, and child-like. Even the male protagonist--an adult--seems innocent, almost asexual; there is but a single brief scene that ever so slightly hints of sexual desire, but that's it.) The art is decent, the flow is smooth, the secondary characters are natural and believable. Overall, it is a pleasant, short, forgettable read with light emotions.
Pretty good manga, even though it annoyed me a lot, that you almost never got to see them in the socalled lovescenes. That's when my heart skips a beat everytime, and cheeks blush. But it didn't happen in this manga. A shame, cause it was really good.
Don't even read a manga if the subject is going to bother you
And don't rate it a 3.
"3" means the mangaka couldn't form coherent sentences and drew stick figures.
i really wasted my time reading this >.< 1st of all.. i've read a lot of teacher/student manga's but this one was the worst! i mean it didnt even show much about der relationship! you wouldnt even know if they wer really going out or what! grrr
