Be careful, one of the characters likes to get hit. Shell has a beautiful smile but he likes to be spanked, auch
Personally, I struggle with violence, but it's the protagonist's decision. If they consent, it's between them.
Other than that, the story is interesting.

Gets better as you read it!

At first, I thought this would just be a cute, sexy story without a well-thought out plot. The first few chapters aren't amazing, but it starts to get more intense, and then about halfway through the plot really picks up, and you have to keep reading! It actually made me cry at the end.

The setting is a post-apocalyptic world where vampires rule, and humans are lowly creatures used to feed on. The main characters are One, a human "banker" at a blood bank with a hidden identity, and Shell, the son of a vampire overlord with a secret kink. They meet and there's an instant attraction, but their relationship takes time to become something they aren't scared to show publicly. There is a forbidden romance aspect to it, because they're a vampire and human.

I wasn't a huge fan of the BDSM scenes (it's just not my thing) but I thought the sex scenes were good.

The depiction of BDSM here is still a bit stereotypically contradictory, but other than that I thought this series was pretty good for what it is: a cute little Romeo and Juliet romance interlaced with action and horror and some character development to please the crowd. Oh of course we can't forget about the smut too lol, especially near the end of the series when the sex is no longer crude and becomes actual love making. I do wish the ending was less abrupt and cryptic though.

Nicely paced web toon

If this was a physical copy, you can even say it's a page turner--and not at all because of the sex as the summary implies.

It's a post-apocalyptic world (implied to be from global warming) where vampires farm blood from humans and to some extent, living "peacefully" with each other (with steam punk vibes). The BDSM pushes the plot forward and it's used effectively to drive the growth of One and Shell. Their plays seem to be borne from a new world where master/slave is the norm so it's unhealthy at the start, but it does progress to something healthy as their relationship grows real.

It's got a good dose of world-building, too, and I'm kind of sad it doesn't go into more details.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I guess I'm feeling underwhelmed of the world-building and the dark themes because I've read an original fiction that really went there with this idea that was, IMO, better executed (Undesirable by Velvet Mace--tw:non-con).

He's been wearing contacts since him and his father moved to the slums. Humpty Dumpty was given freedom because he's also tasked to scheme against the other territories in bringing down the other blood lords.

I just have to say this was a lot better than I thought it would be. The fact that the plot and characters developed so far throughout the story was wonderful, there was a bunch of connections given in reference to how things happened, but I did feel like the ending was rushed and there was some iffy bdsm play things in the beginning (never do those things out of anger, people!), so minus one point. The characters were diverse and relateable. The color changes throughout chapters was really interesting, as was the change of narrative tone as the series went on, as if the narrator and the reader were growing and learning together. I highly recommend this manhwa!

I also have a special message for some comments around here...

[The following is not a spoiler in my opinion because this manga is very clearly tagged as BDSM and Dominance/Subordination, however if you want zero input into details later into the manga, do not read below. It is also a bit ranty:]

...who are feeling like the manhwa suffered a tragic loss because they didn't end on a vanilla note. The couple legit met and connected because of their quirks and their KINK. The most UNrealistic thing would be if they were magically like "oh, I have lost all my resentment so I don't do kink anymore." I love that the manga artist kept in the BDSM characteristic and kink while keeping the characters empathetic, because that is how BDSM should be. The characters didn't have the internet or BDSM forum groups to consult and came up with a safeword on their own to keep each other accountable. I will reiterate that I do not think their BDSM sessions earlier on should have been done out of hatred/spite, and that was honestly hard for me to stomach. However, there is also the worldview of the setting to take into account and the fact that it may have been drawn not only as smut, but to highlight inhumanity through the characters' eyes. I believe the author did a wonderful job. In the end...the characters are kinksters to the core and I love them for it. If you are against the main characters keeping their kinks or kinks being representative of something/someone being "broken"...yeah this is probably not for you and your own.

I'm not a fan of BDSM at all but this webtoon was great and actually ended up having plot. The ending just makes me want to rip my hair out because there were other ways to make the end better.

It's one of my favorites and the art is beautiful especially of Eric/One and his father.

Bad plot-wise

I finished this webtoon yesterday.

I wasn’t expecting anything when I picked up this webtoon: the art was good, characters' interactions entertaining and sex scenes hot. But when the plot finally started to deepen and the main conflict was introduced, it quickly became almost unreadable. There are way too many plot holes around major events – for example, simple things like:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
One’s contact lenses. It seems that he got them right after he took place of a dead child on a human farm. I wonder how he could afford it. He also works with a person who knows that he took that child’s place, but is not aware of his natural eye colour despite the fact that One has very distinct eye colour.

Or major plot points like:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Humpty Dumpty (or what that crazy albino art’s name was?) being able to stay away from his possessive master for a couple of days in the forest without the latter asking any questions about where his treasured possession/sex toy was.

Maybe it is just me and there were explanations to these points and other plot hiccups; if so, they just weren’t fleshed out well, because there were many moments when I felt so baffled by the plot that I couldn’t mindlessly enjoy sex scenes anymore. This brings me to the ending and how rushed it was. Seriously, despite having some great action moments, it was as stale and anticlimactic as they come.

It feels strange to say that but I really wish that the author cut down the sex scenes to develop the plot more. Or maybe chose a less complicated plot, because the story would have been more enjoyable as PWP than what it is right now.

Gets deeper in plot and psychological issues as it progresses

I came across this manga when I was looking for yaoi and vampires. Im really not fond of S&M and seriously can't understand how people get turned on with having candle burns on them...still, I was prepared to read it through because of the hot bishies! If I were to place additional tags in this, then that would be psychological. There were a lot of twisted themes in this manga. At first, I was browsing through it with a smile, trying to deal with the comedic BDSM scenes with chibi faces. By a fourth of the manga, I was starting to seriously read it. By midway, a had a frown on my face because of how serious, depressing, and thick the plot was becoming. At the last few chapters, it became a thriller type of manga. In short, it was light->dark->very dark->darkness overload with bloody hell scenes. I quite enjoyed reading it, save for the BDSM scenes which were very light compared say to...Gengoroh Tagame Sensei...and the violent and heart aching scenes weren't as heavy as say...Mika Sadahiro Sensei or Miyamoto Kano Sensei's works. In other words, it was still very tolerable as a non BDSM fan. There were also limited penetration scenes in this manga. The ending though felt a little rushed to me (even though it was happy). Still, since it follows the flow of vampires going to extinction, then, there isn't a real, fluffy, and sweet ending which can be delivered appropriately. Id suggest reading it if you have time in your hands. I was able to finish it in one sitting as its relatively a light read with pleasant graphics.

Despite an extremely weak beginning, there IS plot. If you are able to get past all the bdsm stuff, then the story is surprisingly deep. It's not philosophical or profound, but there is enough substance that one wouldn't necessarily stick around ONLY for the smut. The humour is pretty hit and miss imo. Once in a while, characters spout the stupidest lines. If you don't take this read too seriously, then it's alright.
