Some relationships are built on inequality. Big-time, bread-winning husband and no-salary housewife. Bert and Ernie. Pretty much every single male anime hero who shacks up with a supportive girl. Sometimes they reverse it and we get Vegeta and Bulma, and we all know who wears the gay pink shirts in that relationship.

This is a story from Kurokawa Juso, who goes by the name Catcher in the Rye. It’s the story of two “brothers” (are they related? if it bothers you, there’s a possible out from this being incest.) who live alone together, struggling to make ends meet. The little brother is a mature little guy who takes care of the housework, manages the money, and all the rest. The big brother is a juvenile manchild who makes messes, wastes the money, and you know the rest. What happens next? Well, you’ll just have to read and find out.
