Seriously, he is an idiot that is only saved by his mary sue powers and a cadre of competent sidekicks. But the man himself is mentally challenged. This makes the story highly frustrating to read and actually enjoy. Imagine if in Game of Thrones the Starks didn't exist and instead the North was ruled by Hodor.
Pretty fun manga, with the pretty typical OP MC. The premise was pretty promising, but it's since devolved into a lot of politics and conspiracy and less OP punching fun lol. =3= I think I would have liked the manga much more if the MC was a little bit smarter. But since he's pretty dumb in the sense of plotting/scheming, the really interesting political maneuvering is taken place around him. Or he's the pawn, which cuts down on the fun considerably.
The monsters are great though. I like how they don't immediately have human forms! They actually spend a lot of time being the monsters they are, which is surprisingly rare unless the character is a wolf girl or a cat girl of some sort.
Was a little interesting until the author started attaching cliche personalities to the monsters MC tames, then I just got bored of it. It's the same cliche shit wrapped up in a different wrapping paper. I think I would have preferred keeping the monsters as mindless companions to what they ended up becoming. The manga quickly just turned into a shitty gag manga. The Antihero tag is false. He occasionally throws out edgy one-liners, but he's not an antihero. Overall he's just a white knight character but he's more like the ringleader of a clown trope than anything else. There's a buttload of cringe in this manga, as well. I quit even attempting to read any further once the latest monster MC tames was a fucking dog. The monsters are drawn all vicious and shit then suddenly they get tamed and become "cute"
