The art and style of humor hooked me from page one. "Cherry Boy, That Girl" is an interesting gender-bender in which the (ex)-boyfriend dresses up as a girl in order to get back at his girlfriend and steal her popularity. I love the emoticon-like faces -- the humor is unique and the art greatly contributes to it. The plot is novel (since when do narcissistic boyfriends crossdress to make their girlfriends jealous?) and character development has a sense of depth. Although there are the typical jealous/bully and love-triangle characters, their motivations and actions have dimension that contribute to this webtoon's freshness and appeal. Overall, this webtoon is one of my favorite in story and top favorite in humor. I greatly recommend it and I greatly look forward to updates!

This webtoon (?) starts out basically in gag/WTF is happening mode. I've dropped it before, but this time I read through a few more chapters. We start actually understanding what is happening and why the characters are behaving in these ways by chapter 20, I think, and I think it does a good job of telling a dramatic story without excusing all logic. There is no sudden character change to rapist. No important person suddenly dying of cancer. I can appreciate this.
I actually really like this webtoon's MC. She's got flaws (a lot of them, actually), but she isn't afraid to say what she wants the majority of the time, and can stand up for herself. As we see her backstory and her friendships develop, I think that she ends up being an admirable character. She's not a goody-two shoes (think Lime's sister), or some sort of anti-heroine. I think for people who aren't prone to seeing black/white or have enough life experience, she's a pretty likable character. To address a previous comment about her, I honestly don't think you've properly understood what happened. Really.
Despite the light-comedic nature of this webtoon, it does touch upon serious issues, like real-life responsibility, abusive relationships, infidelity, self-confidence, and mental illness. There are moments that some of us well-read shoujo readers will say, "I have a bad feeling about this..." but despite the admittedly hundreds of shoujo manga I've read, but I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised. Every one of these characters' actions has implications, some more disturbing than others. There is no magic forgetting of things people have done.

Actually pretty good

The beginning was near turn-off crazy. The characters seemed insane, irrational, painfully self-absorbed and unlikable - but wow did this series do a 180.. By around chapter 15 there is character development and they begin to seem more human and real. On top of it, we get in-depth explanations for their behavior based on the past the further along the story gets. It's also just a pretty funny read.

And to top that top, there are a lot of twists... I'm not even sure if you could call them cliche (almost all twists are) because I actually found them pretty surprising - like the author could just be pulling this sh*t out of a hat and stringing the story along - but hey it all still makes sense, things are just delicately foreshadowed (or maybe I'm just slow).

PROS:
-Character development
-Twists
-Funny (I laughed)
-Walnut (my fave character)

CONS:
- Seemingly psycho characters
(Darin Kim, poor Darin)
-Polygonal mess

I don't feel like typing much, but all I will say is that this is an original, interesting shoujo that has characters with personality.

Mostly, I want to emphasize that Berry isn't a terrible, unlikeable main character. Her behavior and decisions are explained as the manga progresses. She has a back story and character development. I actually like that she has sides of her that aren't likeable and that need maturing because it makes her more real and interesting.

I adore Strawberry. If I had the opportunity to be worshipped like a goddess and date a guy who treats me right, I would.
Cherry is a well-rounded character with just the right amount of flaws.
From what I read in whats been translated so far, the whole cheating thing doesn't irk me ( I'm usually annoyed by unfaithful characters)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Darin was cheating on his girlfriend with Strawberry in the first place, and originally went out with her to toy with her. When she breaks up with him, he acts like a child whose lost their favorite toy. So I feel like the male characters deserve as much crap as Strawberry's getting for their actions.

The entire cast is different from what's standard in a shoujo.

And the art is gorgeous. I really love the way the artist colors eyes.

Starts out as a really wacky and absurd comedy manga about horrible people and crossdressing, and then becomes a serious, incredibly dour romantic drama about those same bad people. And then it goes on like that for WAY TOO FUCKING LONG. It's like if partly through the second season of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia they decided to make it a serious drama and then kept it that way for 14 seasons. These characters are bad people and that's what makes them funny, but you can't expect someone to actually give a shit about their drama like that.

The whole point of the story is that Cherry is a manipulative douchebag who wants Berry all for himself, but she's already rightly given up on him for being a POS. So obviously he has to learn how to actually be a decent person and realize how much he hurts her. Obviously that's the conclusion, you don't need like fucking 80 chapters to get there. If it was 30 or 40 it would've been a neat novelty series, but the way they stretch this shit out is so boring, full of drama that doesn't go anywhere and characters that do nothing but take up space. All the development happens in the first 30 chapters and the rest is just wheels spinning.

Bland story with forgettable characters

Recently completed reading the entire series over the last few months. The MCs don't really improve much from the beginning but at least one of them realize their relationship was unhealthy. I feel like a lot of the side stories weren't resolved other than last minute change of heart decisions.

Webcomic or Korean drama? That's the question

I really like this manhwa, although at first it seems as if they just took scenes directly from a Korean drama and redrew it. The art style is pretty good. The characters aren't perfect, even in real-life people aren't perfect so I find this a pro rather than a con. The plot twists aren't predictable, the author is good at doing that. It gets really cute at times, but also gets frustrating from the drama.

(This should totally become a drama)

Surprisingly great and refreshing

I started to read this webtoon when I was bored, had nothing to read and I was tired of the usual shoujo manga. I saw it's weird title and casually cliked it to know why was it called that way. Every chapter was short and there weren't many so I finished it till the last translated chapter at that time. I thought that it was one of those terrible "mangas" that don't have a proper story and are super superficial.

Well, I was completely wrong. I continued reading it another day and nor only did I discover that there was a well-thought story but that there were also romantic moments in it. And every character has their reasons to do what they do, the story is not supposed to be just a stupid comedy with no moral or development. It really isn't as it seems in the first chapters so I would recomend people to at least give it a chance.

This was the first webtoon I've ever gotten hooked to (and the only one to make me search for raws even if I can't speak korean at all). It's really refreshing because even if the story doesn't seem that new, the character's personalities are pretty unique.

Still reading the manga, will update this comment later. But so far it's an interesting story made so by the intriguing characters. My initial reaction to the cover, the harem tag, and even the summary was, this manga would be good to read as fluff (which I enjoy when the situation calls for it), however as this story progresses, my initial impression was blown away to dust. The characters in the story are well rounded, and have both their good and bad sides. There is a hint of mystery that compells the reader to read on the story. But most of all the main characters with their psychological issues and complexities is really the winning point in this manga.
