It’s not bad. It left me wanting more, but not really in a good way. Instead of wanting more followup chapters or a sequel, I wish the time was better spent with what’s there.
Characters are not developed together enough for the romance tag to feel believable, and there’s not enough development in general. Too much time is spent on the action, where sometimes important discussions take place during the fights that would have worked better during calmer moments.
For the length of the manga, it’s also surprising how much time characters spend separated from each other.
Too much time was spent on the last arc and it takes up takes up a majority of the manga. At the point it starts we’ve had barely any character development or time spent within the different story locations. There’s so much more that could have been explored to build a foundation first. The arc also feels too dramatic and over the top for the story to not be concluded after it.
Some of the main plot points around the leads' history and relationship are never fully explored or resolved by the end.
I’m not generally for fanservice used during serious moments unless it's a comedy heavy series. It felt pretty random sometimes and could have been better placed.
Unless I missed something, there’s a pretty major plot hole where an important character is
thought to be dead,
but when the main character sees them again it’s completely forgotten about. Honestly though, said character is given so little depth that it’s not surprising if the author forgot about it.
