At first, I was hooked onto the manga. The storyline was cute and I thought it wouldn't be another one of those typical cliche shoujo manga. But, I was wrong. The characters are all just idiots and the author makes a miserable attempt to make the main lead to seem insightful.

Here is an example of why: It might have a slight spoiler, but I'm pretty sure that spoils no further than chpt. 6.

The blonde guy,Nozomu is in a stressful situation where he has to take over the family business. He obviously doesn't want to do it, but feels obligated to do so. This indeed is a heavy burden on his part, especially because he has to do this all by himself.

Now, the main female lead waltz's into his room and gives him the best piece of advice she could, which was also probably the authors attempt at making the main lead seem insightful. What she basically said to him was "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, but if I were you I wouldn't be stressed at all because I would be rich and have a big house to live in. Don't sweat it, man. See? your problems so insignificant compared to mine." Then, he immediately blushes and falls in love with her.

I honestly cannot understand why that would help reduce his stress or make him feel better in any way. I think any normal person of his age would think "Do you really understand the kind of situation I'm in right now? You idiot, don't mash my problems with yours."

Conclusion:
Granted, the storyline is a cute one. I would actually like to read 1 or 2 more with a similar plot, but the flaw of the story is just to noticeable for me to continue this manga. The characters are too idiotic and the dialogue isn't too great.

One more thing, the emotions and expressions all seemed forced and unnatural.

i am seriously in love with this manga!

At first i've picked this up since I've always been a fan of Ueda sensei, and really wasn't expecting any heart racing moments while reading this, but as I keep on reading the excitement gets to me and I've fell in love with it!

The first two chapters are so-so, but once you're through it the story starts to take it's pace and will have you excited.
The characters development is so good, and you can expect something much more from them, (and they're drawn so beautifully too that's its a big big plus).

I've read to the latest chapter now, and I can't wait what will happen, every episode is like a exciting adventure going on and keeps you guessing on what's gonna happen.

I really love this, and is strongly recommending to you guys to read it! 🙂

I give a 10 for this because, even though it is cliche and corny, it is a great shojou manga with many classic elements of a shojou manga! I love it!

Great Art and Enjoyable Read Until Last Chapter

Just reread this for the second time after years. And I still enjoyed it as if it was the first read through. This is one of the best drama stories I have read because I understand why the MC does what she does. She’s trying to keep her family safe, even if it means she has to sacrifice herself. While she is beautiful and skilled in cooking and playing shogi, I would not call her a Mary Sue though there are many shoujou clichés. Despite lacking the skills to read or write, dance or talk like a “lady”, she manages to warm the hearts of those around her because of her kindness, though it does not happen instantly. It is her kindness that is also one of her downfalls as she puts everybody else before herself, which is why she sells herself and ends up becoming a (very rich and handsome) stranger’s bride.

From here she learns the proper social etiquettes and slowly wins the heart of her husband and vice versa. But the drama is in keeping her pauper life a secret while still trying to take care of her siblings and keeping the other love interest at bay.

The art is stunning and I absolutely love the character expressions and gotta admit, I love me some PTSD symptoms in characters, lmao. But with all this said, the last chapter brings what would be a 9 or a 10 rating down to a 6.5/7.

The last chapter you think the shit is about to hit the fan with all the build up and tension that has been festering. And then it just…stops. And it feels like five chapters were somehow skipped in the middle of the last one. Makes me wonder if the manga got cancelled or something because I don’t understand why it would end so abruptly. It is just so disappointing, like getting a cookie only to take a bite and realize it’s stale. :<

One of a heck character

The reason I love this manga so much is only because of Nozumu, the male yandere in this story. It would had gone to the cliche tropes if it wasn't for his axe swinging to smack every rooms door lol. His character is great, and I think that's the only reason I kept reading this story(plus, the fact that it has a nice art) and would have love it more if only

he and Sumi wasn't really related by blood, and that Souichirou went to the ship and just go back 20 years later while Sumi is like an empty shell looking at their Nozumu jr. Lol. Well, too much for my planned alternative ending shrugs

Well, I could also praise Sumi for her hardworking personality, Souichirou's tsundere character which made me like him too(but really, I was always squealing whenever Nozumu stares very scary in every scene, really, he gives me the goosebumps!)

The ending was a bit rushed, pretty predictable and smooth after all the drama, but I was expecting MORE from the story, but it's still nice, I can proudly say that I rate this overall 7.5/10(bonus points for the art and Nozumu's epic character!)

It started great. I mean, it even got me excited for the next chapter in some parts, I liked when they part ways. But shortly after that....... just wtf? A big NO. I started to laugh so hard at some parts.. Nozomu was so pathetic it made me crack up haha, seriously... It was good before.. but it got bizarre.
... and funny.

Uhhhhhh... I couldn't stand reading it. Maybe I've become too disillusioned with life, but seriously.... This is beyond cliche and corny. I can't. I can't read it anymore...

Though, The art is real nice.

well, the previous reviews made me hesitant to read this manga at first, but the plot encouraged me a bit ...then i didn't regret reading it at all, it's just awesome , the characters are really good, Nozomu is a complicated character ,you can't tell if he is actually good or bad person, the heroine is so kind thus people may called her naive , Ashida is hot but he is a bit annoying for not knowing his feeling clearly towards Sumi...i fully recommend it to you guys 😀

IDK if this is a spoiler but [spoiler] in the 6th chapter on page 7 they show a picture and Sumi is like "who's That?" and Nozomu wants to answer but his mom stops him. If you look closely it almost looks like Sumi (the curly hair and eyes) so what if they were really siblings!!!!! [spoiler] that would make everything so much weirder!!!!

i don't agree with celinae at all. its probabli cuz i'm not a big shoujo fan. in most shoujos, the beginning kinda gives u a feel of what the ending will be like, and theres usually a (baseless/irrational) lovey-dovey thing going on with the main characters from the very beginning. I've only read two chapters of this manga, and i'm definitely hooked. The characters are a bit different (if somewhat odd) and as the plot progresses your not sure whats going to happen next (dont get me wrong, it's not a mystery novel) and so far, your not even sure who's supposed to fall for who. I'm luvin' it, and i hope it keeps getting more interesting.
