Paraphrased from Impossibility:
Kiriko has always been overshadowed by her older sister Eiko. Eiko is cute, smart, and extremely popular, unlike Kiriko. This manga is about Kiriko leaving her sister's shadow.
2 Volumes (Complete)

I looked through the last volume on a Japanese reading site, I must say that it got even more hilarious and weird in the second volume. The story is quite simple and not that many things seemed to happen really, but it was a fun story and most of all the drawing it self was just wonderful! The expressions that the characters made were priceless! XD
Stopped the printing. I was really looking forward to this one...too bad it was dropped- hard on the ground. It was funny, and the art was the best thing about it. No shoujo-big-eye-eyelashes. I dare say, it's the best kind of of shoujo art I've ever seen. And it fits perfectly with its hilarious plot.
If I get the chance to buy it, boy, would I be lucky. I dream of the day some heroic scanlating group picks this up and translates it into glory.
Same with this mangaka's other works. I'd like to see them, but few are scanlated.
I had so many lol moments. This is certainly recommended to those looking for something different in the shoujo genre. The art is an old style but I love it anyway. I kept going 'WTF?!' but not in a bad way.
There are so many things that are unexpected. This manga is all about 'showing' and not telling which I absolutely love. Not everything is spelled out and the quirky facial reactions/expressions really work.
I'm happy with the pacing. It's not really rushing but it's not dragging either. Their certainly won't be any dragging along of the plot over some misunderstanding/hurdle/whatever. It's easy to relate with Kiriko and her personal pervert is just hilarious!
Wahahaha, the male lead who is like a total perv is actually a virgin! Kiriko is just funny and strangely enough I don't really hate the older sister...I think I grew an immunity against typical shoujo female leads(the sis, not Kiriko)
I don't know if I got all the humor in this, but this was still really funny and fast rate! Kiriko is a very lovable character who unfortunetly in a very unloving world, except in the form of a obsessed pervert guy, annoying older sister, and scheming friend. This is a really promising manga, so I hope it picks back up for more chapters!
Not a typical shoujo manga ^^ =DDDD
What I love about this series:
Don't be fooled by the summary. It's much more interesting when you take a look inside. I agree with kujika that it's a very nice alternative to the usual shoujo manga of today. It doesn't follow the usual cliches and expectations. It's pretty funny with a nice style that doesn't blind you from sparkles and shine, yet it's enough to still have that shoujo essence to it. Then again, this was made around the year 1998. But still! I would recommend it. If you like Bara no Tameni, you might like this one too.
I think Kiriko is a fantastic lead. She's not stupid and blindly innocent. In fact, her older sister is more of the stereotypical shoujo heroine. I'm personally tired of reading modern shoujo heroines who complain that they're not "pretty enough" (yet they are as glamorous as the 'popular girl' in school). I find Kiriko to be realistic and likable. She's not a model out of a magazine cover and being in her sister's shadow, she has her ups and downs. Kiriko isn't sickeningly cheerful, she doesn't have bishounen crowding her and when she's sad and she doesn't cry a flood of miserable tears every chapter.
Also, according to the manga-ka's blog, KURIHARA Mamoru is female.
Though, I personally don't see how the manga-ka's gender affects the amount of cliches put into manga. But, whatever.
Overall, the manga's pretty funny. The characters are lovable. What's not to like?
The plot summary was like, whats else's new? and with the descriptn and first 2 chapters I was like this dark haired guy she likes will definitely fall in love wth tomboy heroine, but then its like u know shounen romance with lame lead except its a girl lead ...something different and hopefully there will be less susceptibility to fall into cliches of shoujo
Its very funny, and I love how different it is from all the 'very popular guy likes girl' or vice versa. This girl isn't liked by almost everyone. Even ugly guys make fun of her. o.o;
A nice alternative option to shoujo manga like we are used to them. The art remembers me of Gokousen (shounen), and the story is really hilarious. Mainly the main girl tries to be like her sister in order to find a perfect romance. After she finds out that the boy she has a crush on is actually her sister's boyfriend, she stops wanting to be like her. Now there is this gentle-hearted pervert, who simply can't keep his hands to himself when she's near... lots of bloody scenes to follow.
