Silly but funny

This series of one-shots would be nothing special if not for the humor. Jokes are simply and really silly but it's actually funny in its stupidity. I usually don't enjoy this kind of humor and I'm not keen on manga with stupid characters but even I smiled at ridiculousness of this work. You are literally surprised when the jokes come, they're unexpected and that's why it's easy to enjoy it if you want something simply.

Not bad

Most of the stories are really random and way out there, especially the title one. It made me go "huh? what's going on!" several times, but in a funny way. The humor isn't bad, the sex scenes are hot and the art is very good. If you don't expect a deep, meaningful story then this is a fun read (especially worth it because of the sexy characters!)

Not bad, all the stories were quite amusing and had some fun characters involved, but the best is the Elevator story i think, that had a nice supernatural/psychological touch (i didn't figure out which yet 😛 ). The only complaint i have really is that sometimes the humour soured the romance - especially in the first story. Overall it was an ok read, but nothing special.

I'd use more figurative adjectives to describe the scenes but I should just get to the point... THE 2ND STORY WAS FREAKIN HOT! Plenty gushing scenes! every moment kept me squealing. wonderful one-shot! just the kind to get you out of boredom!

take note, I actually wrote that ^^^^^^^^ in the midst of the story.

the ending was such a cliffhanger it spoiled my mood..sure he saw him again but what was that in the elevator?? his imagination or something? if he's real then was he tricked? WEIRD. I get that fantasy's part of the plot..but geeze, explain the whole thing before ending it with just "that"

A Fun, Well-Mixed Collection

The title story is silly, quirky, lively and all around fun! While one character is a cute, spoiled and a spontaneous rich boy-man, the other is a sullen, quiet he-man that catches fish with his teeth, while simultaneously spearing an even bigger fish! He grunts, "Eat!" to his companion; he's a real caveman with hidden, cute insecurities.

In chapter 3, "Elevator", Sakurai-sensei takes her talent for comedy and proves she has a talent for serious and mysterious foundations beneath comedy as well. She writes, "For this story, you will have to accept it as a strange story or predict the ending using Ozawa's actions and words." The main character, who obviously watches too much tv, is humorous with his wild imagination juxtaposed by the deadpan responses of his quiet, serious companion. Plus, a sexy-time sfx of "swishy"? FTW!

"Love on Arashiyama", chapter four, starts with a quote from the poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar from his poem, "The Rising of the Storm." I always like a bit of poignant, powerful literary background to even the silliest of comedy! It's a sweet romantic story of one man saving another. Unrealistic, but very happily-ever-after modern fairytale-esqe style that is a big fat warm fuzzy.

The Gaze that Never Wilts, chapter 5, was a serious story based on a teacher who had turned away from love forever because of being serverely hurt by a love relationship in the past. He rejects even the most devoted and sincere efforts of his fellow teacher. The surprise at the ending, and the ensuing reaction of the vulnerable and hurt teacher is dis-jointed and abrupt from the rest of the discourse of the story. It goes beyond unbelievable and into poor, written-off type ending.

The Return of the Desert Island (extra) and Housekeeper Tomioka's Diary (extra), are both quick, funny moments in time for our quirky main characters from the title story.

The only annoying thing about the art was the 'dotted-line' semi-invisible penis and the untranslated sfx, which were a major part of the comedy. Otherwise, the simple art, the scanlation, and the stories themselves flow like water. Not spectacular art, but perfect for comedy.

Elevator aka Lift was great

It is unusual to have a real surprise twist in a story. This one did it nicely. I wish it had been just a little longer or been a few chapters.

The rest of the stories are interesting, but average with the diaries adding a funny/cute extra.

This is an OK series but really nothing special. The plot seems really strange and stupid. The art is really good though and it's also pretty funny at times. I did really enjoy lift, which had a supernatural hint.
