Hesitated reading this at first because of the low ratings but there are so few shouta yaoi mangas(shields self from shouta-haters) so I just went ahead and added this to my 'to read' list. You never know, right?
I really didn't like the ukes looking so feminine. Seriously. The review below me had it right when they said they're pretty much females.
The artist just erased the place where the vagina should be and replaced it with a small peepee. Yes, I called it peepee.
but at least the art is still cute.
First Story-- I kept reading despite the uke looking utterly feminine. I understand the moral implications of shouta and whatnot. Still read it though. It sorta grew on me though I can't say I'm crazy for it. It's the usual, "Oh. So he's a guy. No way a person that cute could be a guy. Oh well, I'm okay with it." thing we see in yaoi with similar tropes of having a beautiful/pretty uke and used-to-be-straight seme.
It's PWP, so if you've got no problem with PWP and dicks that just don't fit right with the characters, read on. (It wasn't my reason for reading on though)
I find shouta hot if done right but this barely got me excited in any way for any of the characters.
Second story-- Uhm. Not every possible uke looks like a girl so I guess that's a plus for this manga? The uke(who I guess doesn't look as feminine but totally acts like one. Seriously, I come to yaoi as a break from the usual shoujo stuff) is worried about his sempai-lover who has a very obvious little-brother complex.
I felt sort of bad for the uke, who tried really hard to get the seme's attention away from the seme's little bro(who was also the uke's friend). I wanted him to move on already. The seme was just being insensitive. I'm okay with tsudere guys, cold guys, whatever, the seme in this story just made me want him to hurt emotionally just as how much he was hurting the uke(Sora, btw. I keep calling them by their positions in the relationship)
The killer blow came when the seme relented to the uke because his little bro went out of his way to lend Sora an outfit that Sora uses as a last resort to get the seme to sleep with him
Some cross-dressing here in sailor uniforms.
Third Story-- Another girl-like uke. The uke is a fox thing and the seme is a bear. Yeay, inter-species. Not really. Pretty much flipped through the pages. Nothing interesting.
I just realized that the artist didn't erase the place where the vagina should be. He just attached a peepee complete with a sack right underneath it. So that's why it looked off.
I'm a go for shouta but I didn't like this one. It wasn't hot. It was to me...what I guess how others see shouta.
Fourth Story-- I read this once before in a separate collection of oneshots with shouta. Didn't like it before. Not liking it now. Dropped it mostly because the uke just looked too much like a girl. The hair and everything. It hadn't bothered me much with the first story but this was just ridiculous.
The uke is a 'cat'. The seme is a human who know's the uke is a cat and sometimes sees the uke in its cat-form. Flip a few pages and we get
the guy sticking his tongue in the cat's ass. The mental image of it just freaks me out despite the page showing another uke with a tail. shudder
Ended up skipping this one. shudders again
Fifth Story-- I'll settle with the term 'androgynous' uke for now. It's a bit off because the uke(who looks like he's around elementary to middle school is mentioned as being a year older than the seme who looks like he's in high school.
Childhood friends, yaddayadda, uke pushes the seme away, yaddayadda, they end up fucking anyway. Yeay, it rhymed.
At least, it's better than the others.
Sixth story-- When you'd actually start thinking that maybe what you're reading has some semblance to a plot or something, bam, they do it.
Overall, despite the smut and shouta, I barely found it hot. Shouta can be done well and this just didn't go there.
