Coming back after 25 years!

Finally, after all these years, Nishimori has understood that we want to see more of the duo's antics! As fun as his other mangas were, none of them really went to the length that Kyou Kara ore wa did, and most of them just drowned in the sea of mangas, although very unfortunately.

This manga was the occasion for Nishimori to bring Mitsuhashi and Itou back to life, after 25 years. Rather than attempting a poor imitation of something very old, the author focused on making a new story with the two idiots being only side characters, so this spinoff worked quite well.

Ultimately though, it's just a story that relates very little to Kyou kara ore wa. Seeing the two protagonists again was great, but also disappointing as they don't really serve a purpose other than saving the day. It's a bit disappointing that the author chose to do a story in the future but while bringing both of the characters from the past, instead of having their future selves, though I can understand why he would make that choice.

Overall, it's a good little story but nothing really spectacular and you could say, it's just a reminder that Nishimori hasn't forgotten his fans.
