Too much angst
by firewolf19

Rating: N/A
Let me preface this with the following:
1) I know it's a shoujo, and shoujo has angst
2) I actually like angst, when it's appropriate and well built-up

But this series just has SO much angst. But for me, it lacks an honest depth. It feels more like angst for the sake of drama. Like another reviewer mentioned previously, it feels like the author keeps recycling the same emotions and plot lines without any real character development. I've just been getting tired of the "Nino encounters Momo, he acts coldly towards her, she sings her heart out, Yuzu is amazed, repeat". I appreciate that the author has tried to maintain some realism by making Nino ever-faithful to Momo, as feelings do not always change easily, but we really haven't seen enough character development of her so far to really make her appealing or a "deep" character.

I think my favorite developments is when
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Nino sings at her school and is (temporarily) thinking of Yuzu, because it finally showed that she has another level of personality other than Momo angst.

All that being said, I still found this series entertaining and did read until I ran out of available chapters. I do think it has real potential and I like that the musical element remains at the forefront of the story. I think the characters need to become more three dimensional in their personalities and the author needs to find a more concise direction to proceed in to make it better.

Who is the actual male lead
by Enterurn4me

After 35 chapters I'm still not sure who the real male lead is, I'm thinking it's most likely Yuzu due to the fact that his introduction was way longer than momo's, he appears much more times in the manga than momo and he has an unrequited love for Nino. But seeing how Nino still cares nothing but momo, I'm starting to doubt that Yuzu is the actual male lead. It might be both of them, idk.
The fact that I love Yuzu more than momo, if the manga ends with Yuzu broken-hearted, I'm going to sad. I get that nino's love for momo doesn't change easily, that's why I'm getting the feeling that Nino will come to love both Yuzu and momo which will make the ending even worse than momoxnino.

Started off very promising, now I'm not so sure...

The premise upon which the story was built up (their childhood) was interesting. And it was still interesting, but when their "2nd beginning" ended, I'm not so sure anymore. It just felt like it'll keep on repeating again (these "beginnings" and "endings") and I think I've almost had enough. I thought there would be more character development, but no it seems that we're still stuck here. I am aware it may be more 'realistic' since people do not change that quickly, but still, I hope that at least we will eventually see a change happening. I've seen a possible hint change is coming from chap 31, but at the same time, it seems like the same thing will happen again... I sure do hope the mangaka has it all planned out instead of us going around in circles and circles again...

Also it feels like this manga tries to have that deep emotional thing going on, but it's not working so well for me tbh. It just feels like those feelings are only surface-deep, and not developed enough for it to carry deep emotional sentiments for this series.

And perhaps I am hoping for yuzu x nino so i'm sick of all these momo x nino LOL (going nowhere but at the same it is still happening) but still both love lines are going nowhere...I just hope that there wont be a sudden 3rd male character who would appear and snatch nino lol (have seen that happening before.......)

My score is such (which is pretty high considering my criticisms here) because although I see areas in which this series are lacking in, it is not that bad that I stopped reading it until the latest updated chapter so far, though it is not exactly very good either - it has its exciting moments, but it is becoming rather bland what with the repetitive things that's going on. I still see hope for this series and I still have not given up on this series yet (and also because I need to see yuzu x nino lol).

What did I read

I´m grateful for the scanlators because I would have bought the manga if I didnt know its content beforehand. The art is lovely and all but the story could have become sooo much better. It just isnt anywhere near good and has a lot of recycled elements in it. There are two slightly likeable charackters but thats it. The other vegetables in it just dont make any sense to me and I got the impression that the story was written when the author was in 7th grade? Its all over the place, over the top and cringeworthy I swear I made the most horriefied faces when certain scenes came up and imo you should stay away from it if you´re not an elementary school kid. I feel like some hater but really I´m just a disappointed reader.

So good i wished to hear it play in real the music motion of the characters draw you in , i want to hear them sing. But to be honest it is somewhat heart wrenching as well , I feel for each one of the main characters in wanting them to find happiness. But I really have the most feeling for Yuzu right now b/c he is always trying his best and even when he left her six years ago he left kind words to encourage her in his own way .Even though he was already falling in love with her then found out that there was someone else she love he didn't discourage her or tried to make her sad. But Momo only seems to say depressing things that only tug at her heart strings maybe she'll become even better b/c of it but still why suffer even more by yourself , when you have someone who's willing to bare the burden that he shoulders. He needs to open up more trust that nino will be there for him.

So heart wrenching !

I disagree with great k comment. Though yes she's chasing the 'handsome' guy whose cold to her.
However the back story of each of them is heart wrenching.
She loved her childhood friend because they were together from birth, and one day he just disappeared with cold words he never meant, and when they meet again he was cold some more because he doesn't want her to see how far down he dropped since she last saw him. Who would?

And the other guy who loves the main heroine, he loved her because he can hear the music he wrote in a voice that reminded him of himself when he used to sing. Sure he is 'pathetically' trying to stay with her even though she loved someone else. But how can you call it pathetic? He loves her, doesn't one want to stay with the person they love? Who was only able to compose more songs cause only her voice reached his soul?
Each of them have their story, you just have to view it at their own POV.

Beside it's emotion either positive or negative that makes a song more powerful than someone singing like a 'genius'. there's no such thing as being a genius in singing. it's like playing a instrument perfectly. all there is, is perfection. no emotion does not make a heart move. It's like singing in a monotone. bigrazz

Wasted Potential

Just another typical shoujo where you have a girl obsessed over a handsome jerk who acts coldly towards her but is actually holding back his feelings while she is also being supported by the nice guy who pathetically stays by her side.

So far 30 Japanese chapters released with essentially the same plot element every chapter: Girl uses music to fulfill her promise to hottie childhood friend who plays hard to get while her band mate supports her while secretly pinning for her. Very little in terms of story line and character depth.

Annoying since Yuzu should be a lot more interesting character with his musical talents and alter stage ego but he quickly gets stuck in supportive friend role as Nino becomes the shining singer song writer in her quest to capture Momo's attention.
Laughable how the author tries to portrays Momos feelings as a girl in emotional turmoil just because her child hood friend who she hasn't seen in years ignores her and how that somehow makes her a potentially genius singer. Very immature writing. But hey the reviews on here are high so she must be reaching her target market.

This manga is amazing. I LOVE Nino At first I though she was a little dense but she is definitely aware of what's happening. I am not a big fan of Momo. For some reason he rubs me the wrong way. I love Yuzu and want him to be happy. Another thing is I bff ship Nino with Miou. I really want them to be best friends so badly. I strongly recommend this to everyone.

I'm still reading this manga, but I don't like it too much. I keep reading this manga just in case it gets better..One of the reasons I don't like about this manga is the female main character, she sometimes gets to my nerves, so I hope she gets better as the chapters progresses..

It's such an incredible feeling that I get while reading this. I think it's been long since I felt so inspired and newly born while reading a manga. Normally I enjoy them much, but here it gives you such an amazing feeling. You don't wanna miss this feeling. You can't describe it. YOu just have to feel it for yourself
