I didn't actually enjoy this much to start with, Hana irritated me as a character.

However after that I started to enjoy it a lot, but I was not expecting it to be as heavy as it was, I shouild have paid more attention to the Tragedy tag. I agree with Sinxer I would have liked the protagonists to have more personal victories.

I saw a few cpmments saying that it touches on animal abuse, I'd actually compare it more to racism and slavery.

While the author’s previous work, “Orange Marmalade”, felt similarly melodramatic, it’s relatively simpler setting/narrative left fewer holes to gawk at. A story that specifically aims to cultivate drama and elicit catharsis from it’s audience is harder earned - I don’t enjoy feeling like trash, so you better make me feel that the sensation is naturalistically generated from the plot, rather than being intentionally constructed. “Hana Haru” fails in this respect. “Cry porn” could not be a more apt description of this manhwa, as it is akin to the connectionless act of using pornhub. You come (no pun intended) for a fleeting, easily obtained feeling and then forget about the experience.

From meh to good

At first I really disliked this series, hence the "meh" beginning, but I actually liked the ending and how it ended! Yes, it does turn dark and it is a tragedy (not a secret or spoiler, since it's right there in the tags), and it got unnecessarily dramatic especially towards the end, but it got to my feels, which I totally didn't expect. It was a "good" ending for what the series was.

Why are webtoons so underrated.....

This was not what I thought it was going to be at all, it touches on so many hard and different issues that it starts to emotionally hurt to read it. The story starts light(well lightish) and progressively gets darker as more facts about their world are realized, tbh this is less about werewolves and more about how much people suck when it comes to others. I do like how they used werewolves though it really hits you with a heavy does of reality which is kinda funny cause ....well ....their werewolves, but because they fall between the animal and human world the whole webtoon has a air of slavery and animal cruelty about it. All in all a fantastic read but I really would have preferred an end that had a more personal victory for the mc's rather than for the greater good one 😑

I didn’t expect it to be so heavy. I didn’t listen to the other comments and I was not prepared, hahaha
It is definitely cute but has themes that translate to real life. Here’s another warning, it’s not your casual shoujo.

This series was simply fantastic throughout as it gave the reader such a wide range of emotions. People who you hated at first you started to love and people you loved in the beginning you probably only like them a little bit as the story progresses. They are so many real world elements in this manhwa that really makes you reflect about current times. If you think this is a simple romance tale then you have another thing coming. I was about to put in spoilers till I decided my subject title was spoiler enough. If you have read the author's other work "Orange Marmalade" then you probably have an idea of what is to come but even for those people I would say prepare for an even more crazy emotional roller coaster. The only reason I didn't give this a 10 was cause the ending was to "real" for me but without my bias this webtoon should be an easy 10/10. If you are tired of reading cliche romcoms and harems just drop or pause them and start this series.

It isn't like Orange Marmalade (author's previous work) at all. Yes you can read some happy shoujo-ish school life story at the beginning, with little bit romance and just a simple conflict.
Past chapter 50 the story gets darker and sadder and more angst introduced, then from chapter 70++ onwards (till the end on chapter 113) it's not your high-school romance human-werewolf story anymore :"( insert sad and broken heart emoji here
