Description

Because of their parent's remarriage, high school student Satou Yuka, suddenly finds herself living together with her stepbrother, 23-year-old high school teacher Satou Taichi. Actually, their parents have not registered their marrriage and therefore they aren't even siblings by law; but since both parents aren't around, they end up living together! Taichi who has a very serious case of sister complex, wishes for Yuka to call him "onii-chan". But Yuka's reaction is very cold?

Contains the short stories titled Private Princess, Chocolate Impact, Hot Chocolate, and Face of Fake as extras in each volume scanlated thus far. (*Private Princess=*vol.1, etc.)

i was just re-reading this series and it smacked me in the face how awesome the mangaka is for creating such a hilarious cast with so many winks and nods to lots of shoujo (and sometimes even BL) tropes. the plot isn't anything amazing or groundbreaking to comment over, but the way the characters are built and interact with each other makes me smile and spit out my water laughing in every chapter.

this manga is often compared to host club, and although i agree that the character archetypes are completely similar, they are quite different in execution and that's what made the romance angle work for me in this work while it fell quite flat for me in host club (thus leading me to drop the manga once it focused entirely on that). while haruhi is completely oblivious to everything romance and sex-related, yuka is not. she might be oblivious to other's feelings for her and shares haruhi's unique wit and "straight man" role, but she is completely aware of the implications of her living under the same roof as an older, attractive man and the complications that might arise should this man no longer decide to be her older brother (as well as the confusion she would feel if this would happen). as for taichi, he's a huge, adorable and thick-skulled dork like tamaki is, but not nearly as innocent. in fact, it's proven he can be quite a perv and has some experience with women. he's aware of what his developing feelings mean, the impasse is what he is to do with them. this makes the romance much more....honest, in my opinion, and much more believable and acceptable than host club's was.

also i love taichi's friend...eiji? he's such and troll and takes everything in stride (including taichi drunk-making-out with him, lmfao). yuka's friend is also an amazing troll. and arata....is so....unexpectedly sexy. lol. now i don't know who to root for ;_;

tl;dr: my two favorite male characters crossdress so 10/10 😀

edit: THAT ENDING WAS SO DISAPPOINT. it felt rushed and the mains became all OOC with all these cornerings coming out of nowhere. at the same time it felt like nothing happened, no progression. pretty sloppy last chapter, imo.

I didn't like it and I didn't hate it. The main male character was kind of too much for me, and to be honest at times I found him rather annoying. I actually would of preferred the younger brother, instead of the teacher. The story wasn't horrible, but it really wasn't well developed either. Its only 6 volumes, and it was hard to finish. I've finished things much longer than this, and much faster.

Talk about a crap ending. I have been building myself up for an awesome lovey-lovey ending and I was so disappointed. I even want and checked to make sure it was IN fact the END, and sadly it is. It seems to me the author got tired of writing about this very slow and (clumsy) romance and decided to just END it with no HEART in it. At least it did sort of have an ending. On a scale 1-10 JUST for the ending, I would give it a 2. Hope not everyone is as disgusted with the ending as I am.

I originally liked this story very much, but found the pacing off: The middle of the story was dragged and dragged, whereas the final chapters seemed almost rushed. Could have been done better. Possible that if you read this in one day, this won't be an issue.

I agree with Axlish. It's a LOT more interesting than I thought it would be... I think the emotions, while exaggerated compared to real life (?), are still based on reality and more complex than a lot of other series with a similar concept. It's unexpectedly very good!

Well, normally I'd give most shoujo manga a miss 'cos many are just so blah on character development and absolutely thin on plot. However, this title is just too hilarious for words and it's interesting how they interact with one another.

i was kinda interesting at the beginning, but later on was bored -_- the teacher character is annoying and useless >< they try to make him like tamki senpai!, i wish she end up with her lil bro .. his cute and hot <3

Well, as stated below, it is getting boring. It started out fine- the female lead isn't as annoying as other shojous, but the plot just gets boring. It would have been better if it was a shorter romance, in my opinion, so that it can end already (I may be a little biased since that I read too many shoujo). Other than that it was an okay read, although I dropped it now. Only read if you can tolerate typical plot devices and such, as well as having a 'yes it is a shoujo plot' thought in mind...
