I don't disagree with the comment from Lemon Ice (although the logical error part, I need more info about -- didn't think there were any), but I still really enjoyed this series.
Love the art. The gist of the story and the explanation behind the "why" was also plausible enough too. Some of the characters were so wholesome and good. It's great that the author is so unforgiving with killing off some of these characters too, because that's just how life is (and we gotta love with that heartbreak, haha).
The pacing is incredible. It's so fast that it keeps you hooked right until the very end...
...Speaking of which, the ending was pretty abrupt. You couldn't tell it was even ending from the second last chapter LOL. It didn't drag on like some other ones do, so I give it that. And I love this kind of ending! Leaving off at a point where you can keep imagining how the story would progress, with the potential of a third season/continuation (but that will not be possible, since it's the series finale). It left off at a reaaaaally good note, which is awesome.
Now, some spoiler-y thoughts I had... 🤣
Why is the MC so smart? He is a dropout from school, and it was never established that he was a genius. All he had was the shield skill, but not an innate intelligence. Meh.
Season 2 is a copy of Battle Royale, Hunger Games, etc type of storylines, but it's so FUN to read regardless. But I didn't appreciate how the other ethnicities got stereotyped (drawn or otherwise depicted in their speech) lol. That was unnecessary. I mean, that Bruce Lee in Team China, really? 😂
Also, someone please explain how the cult guy's two daughters survived all the way to the end when the worms attacked the ship. Their skill requires another person to be used, which is so freaking useless. How did they even get enough points to survive that long? AND I thought they died anyway? (Maybe this is the logical error that Lemon Ice was talking about, haha)
The mother worm arc was pretty weak IMO. The finale of how it all ends shouldn't have been so ... trivial and superficial. Given that it ended so fast, I wouldn't be surprised if this was just an ending that was quickly thrown together. I believe the overall ending was what the author had in mind, but not with that shoddy arc. The last battle with those clones was lame (reusing the self-destruct tactic again!?), but ah well. :)
ALSO I LOVE how Ford the USA guy used the Shut Up skill 😂 You can't tell me you didn't laugh from that. It was so unexpected, but so GOOD.
I loved this webtoon enough to give it a 10 and overlook all the issues I had with it, because I enjoyed this series overall. Hope you do too!
