I'm going to ignore all the plotholes, world building inconsistencies and boring fight scenes.
Plus 1 point for: MC only has brothers.
Minus 1 point for: MC's brothers are all shitheads.
..and then the obnoxious red headed girl is introduced. She's supposedly a genius but other than harassing MC and being holier than thou she's a waste of space. She can't even protect herself when its crunch time, forcing the terminally ill child that is MC to take out a whole group of hungry wolves to protect her annoying, useless ass.
Jfc. If you're going to introduce a combat oriented female character don't make her first action scene into whatever the fuck this is.
The author tries to salvage her character by having her somehow kill one of these massive, deadly wolves by throwing a knife at it. While hiding high up on a tree branch. And she's a child herself.
Ugh.
EDIT: the women in MC's life, specifically the second green haired maid, are all unbearably pathetic. This maid doesn't try to do anything to save herself or her situation, always attempting to commit suicide at the slightest negative thing.
Sure, she may not be the MC this story, but she IS the MC of her own life. If she actually rubbed two brain cells together and taken our MC's words, "Use me the way you need too" to heart she would have figured something out.
It's not taking advantage of our MC since he did give her permission to be sneaky and fight her way back to becoming her family's legitimate heir.
EDIT II: Oh. That's why. This is a harem masquerading as "finding good allies and companions" even when those allies are barely useful.
Harem subtext. All young men are against MC in some form. All young women want MC in some form.
